THE PROJECT:
· The renovation of a 100 years old historical library building to accommodate the new technology for libraries in the new century.
· The building is located in a difficult & congested site of Cairo City Center, surrounded by mixed use old buildings, with the Museum of Islamic Art occupying the ground, street level floor & garden area.
· Renovation & development works include introduction of:
(1) a new floating freeform steel structure floor supported on the bearing walls of the old building as a mean to increase the spaces of the floor area to accommodate new and modified functions of the oldest national library building in Egypt.
(2) a new basement to be constructed under the existing museum garden area. The construction of the basement in this particularly sensitive site forms a challenge to the contractor and project manager alike.

THE PROJECT:
Port Said East Port and it's industrial zone logistic park, with total area of (35) km2 and the industrial zone south of the Port (87km2), inside perimeter of Port Said East Port, having great potential to become an economic "pole" creating large opportunity, for the country's and the region's economic development.
With its prime location at the northern entrance/ exit of the Suez Canal and vast areas of open land for expansion, the development of Port Said East port has the potential for serving as an engine for the economic growth as the World Bank report has stated in April 2005. however, according to the World Bank assessment of the area, this has to be supported by an integrated Master Plan and development strategy for both Port Said East and West ports.

• The CIB Bank commissioned EPM as the lead firm for providing Project Management Services (Program Manager) for all its branches Beside providing project management services for some other branches (15 branches).
• The 15 branches of the CIB Bank which were assigned to EPM, were Spread out in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, and the Red Sea, the branch areas range between 150 m2 to 6,000 m2.
• A British Architectural design firm has been commissioned by the CIB Bank to develop the design concept, standardizing special features and specifications to form a recognizable character for the facades of the Bank branches.

EPM was commissioned by the ESIIC through a selective call for tendering to provide the Project Management services of the fabrication, manufacture and shipping parts of the project. (The five factories were built during 1994-1999in five different cities)
