And that's a wrap... 8 months travelling full-time.

We're officially back in Wales!

And crikey, what an 8 months it's been.

From being snowed in in France in January, to sunrise walks in Spain and avoiding processionary caterpillars like the plague...

To Morocco, where being chased by packs of stray dogs became semi-regular, we helped get a German Shepherd puppy out of a tiny pet shop and I explored Africa's biggest souk by myself.

Three ferries later, with a few days in Italy in between, we made it to Albania, which was just amazing. Beautiful walks, sea and lake swims and, of course, Missy — the stray we semi-adopted and who I still want to somehow find again. ❤️

Then Montenegro's ridiculous landscapes, Hospitality on the Beach in Croatia (had to squeeze some DnB in there somewhere 😂) and Bosnia, where we experienced some of the best hospitality of the whole trip AND some of the most brutal storms, one of which took out our Starlink.

I also somehow managed to squeeze in a quick solo trip back to the UK.

Meanwhile, throughout the Balkans, Rolo developed an obsession with tortoises while I was constantly on the lookout for snakes. 😂

Somewhere amongst all of that, we've kept working, taken on new clients and launched Orbit & Anchor. 💫⚓

Then we finished it all off with a 7-day drive from Bosnia to Wales, making our way through Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia, Germany and the Netherlands... with a motorway breakdown and a tyre popping for good measure.

Oh, and the windscreen wipers broke, along with the electrics, meaning we couldn't drive at night OR in the rain. 😂

Safe to say that final week finished me off. My skin has broken out and I've been getting dizzy spells since getting back, so I think my body is requesting that I sit down for five minutes.

We're in Wales for a little while now... but naturally, we're already looking into our next adventure. 👀 And we have BIG plans.

I'll make a proper highlights video soon because there is SO much I've missed from this, but right now I absolutely do not have the capacity to go through 8 months' worth of photos and videos. 😂

Grateful but pooped ❤️

Been wanting to try for a while, but also avoiding it 🤣

Absolutely delicious, 10/10, but so strong!

The end though...no idea what that bang was 🤣🤣

Cain clearly wasn't impressed... but it had to be done, didn't it? 😂

Finally made it into Sarajevo this morning after spending the last 10 days at a campsite up in the mountains. We headed in early before it got ridiculously hot again.

This is the famous East Meets West spot, where you can literally see Sarajevo change from one side to the other.

One way takes you into the old part of the city, with mosques, bazaars and little cobbled streets, and the other takes you towards the more European side with completely different architecture.

Pretty cool seeing the difference quite literally within a few steps.

Surley you all would do a little leap too?

A little life update... 💫

When we left the UK in January to travel full-time, I knew I wanted this page to slowly become less about business and more about our adventures on the road.

Behind the scenes though, business hasn't stopped.

In fact, for the last few months we've been working on something that's been a long time coming.

Three years ago I started Octopus VA with one goal: to build a business that gave me freedom while helping other businesses thrive.

Since then it's grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Today, we're officially launching Orbit & Anchor. 💫⚓

It's the next chapter for everything we've built over the last three years, bringing together the virtual support, branding, websites and creative projects we've been working on under one name.

If you're interested in following the business side of things, we'll be launching a dedicated Orbit & Anchor account soon.

In the meantime, if you'd like to chat about working together, just send me a message here or drop me an email at [email protected].

Alternatively, here is our website https://orbitandanchor.studio/

Thank you to everyone who's followed our journey so far, whether you're here for the business, the travel, or just Rolo. It genuinely means a lot. ❤️

We hit month number 8 today. 🚐

That's how long we've been living, travelling and working from our motorhome on this particular trip.

Honestly... it's been absolutely bonkers.

🇫🇷 France
🇪🇸 Spain
🇲🇦 Morocco
🇮🇹 Italy
🇦🇱 Albania
🇲🇪 Montenegro
🇭🇷 Croatia
🇧🇦 Bosnia & Herzegovina
..with a quick week back to the UK squeezed in somewhere too.

Plans keep changing, I'll do a proper update once we've actually decided what we're doing next. 😂 At the moment, it seems to change every day.

The last few weeks have definitely tested us. The heatwave has completely changed our route several times, our Starlink decided to pack up at probably the worst possible time, and amongst all of that I've been working away behind the scenes on something that's been months in the making.

On Monday, Octopus VA officially becomes something new, and I genuinely can't wait to finally share it with you.

At the same time, Cain has been pouring everything into an amazing project of his own, which should also be launching this month.

So... August is looking like a pretty big month for both of us work wise.

As for where we're heading next...

Your guess is probably as good as ours. 😂

Hopefully we'll have an answer by early next week.

My dream Instagram-worthy picture or video is me and Rolo sailing down a river in an epic place in a kayak, both absolutely loving life.

He went in with Cain yesterday for the first time (you can use the kayaks for free here), and safe to say he was not a fan.

Cain luckily didn't take a picture of me because I had a go too and ended up crashing into the riverbank 🤣

I love the water, but my kayaking coordination is clearly shocking... although to be fair, it was my first time in a single kayak.

Sadly, I don't think you'll be seeing any "living the dream" or "me and my dog bonding" videos from us any time soon.

Turns out we're both useless.

But I'm absolutely determined to make it happen... stay tuned!!!!

Van life isn't all waking up to mountain views.

Sometimes it's brilliant.

Sometimes it's a pain in the arse.

These are a few things I still haven't quite got used to...

⚠️ Warning: swearing involved. 😂

We left our little restaurant park-up just after lunch again, hoping to make it to a campsite just outside Mostar.

The windscreen wipers have been playing up for a while, so Cain spent about an hour before we lefy trying to sort them. Turns out they're dead because of an issue from the garage in Morocco. 🙃

We hadn't really had to worry because we've barely seen any rain recently, and we thought we had a nice dry window for the hour-and-a-half drive.

We were wrong.

Literally as we left town... the rain started.

Then came the storm.

Then came the hail.

No windscreen wipers.
No visibility.
Middle of nowhere.

We ended up pulling over on the side of the road because it was just too dangerous to keep going. The hail was absolutely savage.

I had a little cry 🤣 genuinely have never been so scared by weather in the van before.

Thankfully, after waiting it out for a bit, we managed to get going again and made it to the campsite in one piece.

Safe to say, we're very happy to be parked up tonight and round two is about to start ⛈️
