Good practices series, #5: AI in education.

Generative AI is changing teaching and learning, bringing new questions about how it can be used responsibly in schools. For MIND+, this means looking at the responsible use of generative AI in teaching - its opportunities and risks, what teachers are saying, and practical tips.

This work is part of a wider research phase focused on understanding what schools and educators need. The findings will feed into a practical toolkit for schools and teachers, alongside teacher training activities designed as part of the MIND+ project.

The focus is not only on AI itself, but on how schools can approach generative AI responsibly as part of everyday teaching and learning.

For MIND+, AI in education is part of a broader goal: helping schools support wellbeing, responsibility and digital confidence while preparing students for the world beyond the next exam.

Giving everyone a voice starts with how schools make decisions.

Governance is one of the three parts of ESG. In schools, it is about how decisions are made and how everyone gets a voice.

MIND+ brings the ESG framework into everyday school life, exploring how schools can put Environmental, Social, and Governance principles into practice.

Through research and needs analysis, MIND+ is looking at what schools and educators need to make these ideas work in practice.

Good practices series #2: the Olweus Bullying Prevention Programme.

Developed in Norway by Professor Dan Olweus and running in Lithuanian schools since 2008, Olweus starts from a simple refusal: bullying is not "part of growing up," and it is not a problem for children to solve alone.

Instead, the whole school takes a stand. Every adult in the building is trained to recognise and respond to bullying. Clear rules apply at school, classroom, and individual level. Annual student surveys measure what is actually happening - and schools that sustain the standard earn certification.

The results are measurable: reductions in bullying of 30 to 70 percent, and better relationships between students and teachers.

For MIND+, Olweus shows how student wellbeing stops being a slogan and becomes a system - with training, data, and accountability behind it.

New series: good practices we are learning from.

As part of the MIND+ research phase, each partner country mapped the initiatives that already make schools more sustainable, inclusive, and well-governed. We are sharing the best of them here.

First up: Eco-Schools - one of the world's largest sustainability education programmes, running in more than 70 countries, including all four MIND+ countries.

The idea is simple and powerful: students form an eco-committee, audit their own school's environmental impact, design an action plan, link it to the curriculum, and monitor progress. Schools that show real change earn the internationally recognised Green Flag.

Sustainability stops being a topic in a textbook and becomes something the whole school practises - students leading, teachers supporting, community involved.
