The company PRODEC Consultores S.L. started activities in 1986, since 1994 the legal form is a Limited Company with shell-structure, contracting independent professionals according to the services needed. Activities are related with rural development and sustainable tourism in Europe. PRODEC has 30 years of experience in integration and transfer of practical experience from day-to-day assistance a
nd social dynamization in rural areas. Access to and transfer of knowledge from the rural organisations across Europe about local value chains, short supply routes, and circular economy to improve the impact of rural development. The participation of PRODEC staff in the Civil Dialogue Group on Rural Development and workgroups of the European Rural Development Network (ERDN) provides additional contacts, experience, and access to best practice cases. PRODEC staff has been responsible of the management of various rural tourism entrepreneur associations in Andalusia since 1991, being involved in vocational training programming and implementation, Technical Assistance to Rural Tourism initiatives, and IT applications for rural micro-enterprises. Since 2002, PRODEC hosts the secretariat of EuroGites-European Federation of Rural Tourism, managing the full range of activities of this organization including the organization of several international events (European Congresses on Rural Tourism – 5 editions since 2003) and the recent STRD2017-Sustainable Tourism for Rural Development http://strd2017.org
