💜 Let me tell you a little story 💜

How much are you willing to sacrifice to do what you love?

Ever since I started this leather crafting journey in 2019, I was determined to go all in. If you do something, you give it your all or nothing at all. That was my philosophy.

I would focus all my attention on building this business from the ground up!

Finally I had found my true passion in life. A place where I could express my creativity with the use of my own 2 hands.

I have grown a lot along the way, faced many obstacles and fears and always tried to overcome them. Quitting just wasn't an option.

The only way was forward. If things wouldn't work, I would try to go bigger.

A couple of weeks ago I came to a realization.

It doesn't matter how much you want it, how much effort you put into it, some things are just out of your control. They take time.

And I struggled a lot with that.

It felt like I was being forced to stop. No matter what I would do, create or organize, it just wouldn't work.

Along the way I learned to trust the process, some things are just out of your hands.

As the universe aligned its points to show me the way, my attention went on finding a way to keep doing what I love, without being financially dependent on it anymore. Cause let me tell you, it's a weight on your shoulders that just shouldn't be there, if you're trying to do something you love.

So, this week I was able to secure a hybrid job offer that will allow me to be in my studio everyday, surrounded by the things I love, while earning a steady full time income along the way.

I know this might seem like an obvious solution, but it wasn't the case for me.

I'm in a place right now where I can confidently say, I'm excited for this new venture and I'm looking forward to what possibilities it will bring to grow, to continue my journey on the road to passion.

Treasures of the Sea

So, last week .acm and myself did our first collaboration linked to a giveaway. If you don't know who she is, go check her out since she makes some amazing handmade jewelry!

It was a great success and congratulations to for being the lucky winner! You'll receive your price shortly!

For this collaboration I looked for inspiration with the master creator and used his sea coral pattern as a starting point. If you haven't yet checked his stuff out you're missing out! He created super easy to follow tutorials with a great attention to detail and beautiful end products!

As I didn't just want to copy his designs I added my own twist to it. The final design turned out triple in size with a different shaped "sea bed" to accommodate larger pieces of jewelry.

A unique 30th birthday!

To be a part of someone's special day is always a huge honor. And that's exactly how I felt when this order came in.

"Miss V" was looking for a full option wallet for the upcoming 30th birthday of "Mr. K" with the following specs.

• Hold 50-100€ bills.

• Place for a minimum of 8 cards.

• A coin compartment.

After a few mails and a couple of days work, The tri-fold was born!

Thanks for the trust. I hope it wears in nicely!

Did you know I designed my belts with some key features?

• They are made out of 3.6mm thick Italian Dakota Vegetable Tanned Leather.

• I custom make them to length to make sure they fit you perfectly.

• Instead of having 5 holes to insert the buckle I only place 3. Once the belt has been customized to length, having one hole on each side is all you'll need for future adjustment.

Where does your creative mind take you?

For a while now I've been looking into ways to extend my creative mind and my product line, not to only focus on wallets and bags.

Home decor, office supplies, the choices are endless.

To kick things off I would like to share this first concept design.

Autumn Glow 🍁

I've been feeling quite miserable the last couple of days.

I'm not the type of person to get sick often but when I do, I'm down for the count!

Forcing myself to stay inside and do nothing but rest and heal is a practice I need to learn. The mind of a creator never rests. But when the body speaks, you better listen!

I like the warm glow this leather brings! In Its natural state it's very delicate, but once nourished with tokonole, it brings out its true colors!

The Creative Act.

When it comes to designing a new product you have to let your creative mind flow.

Something I'm struggling with from time to time!

I catch myself sitting behind my workbench for hours pondering on new ideas.

Recently I finished reading The Creative Act by Rick Rubin.

A personal favorite when it comes to figuring out your creativity.

It taught me that creativity can't be forced, you have to be open to see it and accept it when it arrives.

It's a lot more about letting in than forcing out.

After a couple of redesigns I ended up with the final design.

-Perspective-

When it comes to leather crafting you can often be so close with your nose in the details that it becomes hard to see the bigger picture.

Life is just the same.

It's healthy to often take a step back, and look at it from a different angle.

I've been following therapy for over a month now and it has been mind blowing.

There's so much stuff we all carry inside of us without even knowing it anymore. And social media is not helping!

Find answers, be kind to each other & yourself, ask help!

We're all on the same journey.

Just a wooden box, right?

Personally, the only thing I carry with me on a daily basis is a minimal card wallet. I hardly ever use cash anymore!

Having your small business in a local town though means people tend to hold on to old habits.

Cash is still going over the counters here in so a cash drawer was needed!

Now for the people that know me, I don't just go out and buy the first thing I find. I'm build differently.
