🇪🇸 Spain’s Dependency Law is undergoing major reform in 2026.

The proposed changes aim to provide more support, greater flexibility and stronger rights for people in situations of dependency.

Key measures include increased public funding, fewer restrictions on combining benefits, expanded home-care services, universal access to teleassistance and greater support for personal assistance.

In the Canary Islands, new measures also include the Personal Assistance Financial Benefit (PEAP) and enhanced support for people with extreme dependency.

⚠️ Important: The reform is still going through the parliamentary process, so some measures may change before final approval.

If, like me 😞 you have lost some points on your Spanish drivers license, you need to know that you can do a course to get them topped up again (max you will gain are 6 points), various driving schools offer them. That, or wait 2 years with no tickets for bad driving, and the system will automatically give you points back to a max of 12. That’s what I did
