Do your familiar with this use case? A data analyst must use a wide variety of tools, including Python code and other models to make predictions within a few weeks, then manually load those predictions into Power BI and compile them into analytic reports for business forecasting. We made it easier.

A Kazakhstan mining company Kostanay Minerals JSC required Exchange Rate Forecasting within predictive analytics for macroeconomic business indicators, utilizing both internal and external data sources to compile forecasts. Awara IT implemented a robust automated solution, including an Azure ML regression model with PowerBI integration. As a result, thirty users from top management and data analytics teams are currently utilizing the solution.

Now machine model calculations are loaded automatically into Power BI itself, in fact, the analyst can simply enter data into Power BI by forecast or by actual change in values and predictive analytics is calculated automatically, i.e., he sees reports in Power BI without the need to use any additional tools. This reduces the analyst's workload, allows for much faster forecast creation and more forecast variants for more accurate analysis, which ultimately helps to make better business decisions and generally increase the efficiency of the business. One of the impacts of such solutions is a reduction in IT costs: $35,000 compared to implementing an on-premises solution.

Digital Avatar Implementation Leads to a 68% Sales increase

Our latest project involved the implementation of digital avatars within GoCoffee's vending machine network, transforming customer interactions. GoCoffee, a self-service coffee shop in Bulgaria, stands out by combining convenience with high-quality coffee. In a market where traditional café experiences are prevalent, GoCoffee's innovative approach sets them apart.

Utilizing Microsoft Azure technologies, we developed a "digital barista" that could engage in real-time with customers. All our experts talk about AI and innovation, but at the same time, one paid more attention to medicine and biology, another to energy. Today's post intersects these topics. Mikhail Tanko, AI & ML Architect at Awara IT, shares:

"The most interesting news for me lately is both 'hardware', 'software', and biological. There have been projects for cultivation human brain cells for quite a long time. Earlier this year, an American laboratory announced a new, more advanced technology.
It’s an AI hardware approach that uses adaptive reservoir computation of biological neural networks in a brain organoid. In this approach, computation is performed by sending and receiving information from the brain organoid using a high-density multielectrode array. Scientists use cells instead of neural networks to calculate. The approach is termed Brainoware.
The advantages are obvious: the technology is energy efficient and achieved unsupervised learning from training data by reshaping the organoid functional connectivity. The researchers illustrated the practical potential of this technique by using it for speech recognition and nonlinear equation prediction in a reservoir computing framework.
It is clear that at this stage the technology is not yet perfect, but it seems that this is the future and NVIDIA should probably worry. On one hand, new hardware is being invented; on the other hand, neural networks themselves are evolving.
As you know, ChatGPT and other models, which now generate almost all the money for NVIDIA, are based on the transformer’s architecture. Transformer technology is the foundation of all modern LLMs, with ChatGPT being the most famous example, and billions of dollars are spent on it.
A transformer is a neural network that involves a huge number of matrix multiplication operations. This is a very heavy computing operation that requires a lot of specific resources, so all modern NVIDIA graphics adapters are initially designed for matrix multiplication.
So another team of university researchers published an article and, 2 weeks after that, showed a solution that can change everything. Scientists simply replaced all the matrix multiplication layers with a slightly simpler operation, thereby reducing computing capacity and energy consumption by more than 10 times. Now calculations can be successfully run on older video adapters. If the technology gets developed, it will be a coup."

We realized that Human Resources development became one of the main themes for Awara IT in the first half of this year. We actively expanded the team in various countries and took part in the competition at 5th International Conference HR Brand Central Asia. We helped our customers automate processes and increase employee engagement with gamification. We held many webinars and workshops, business breakfasts and business dinners, talked a lot with general managers, and even more with those who are responsible for the human potential of various businesses.

The importance of HR in corporate world is constantly increasing since 2020. It has become the norm for HR specialists to join C-boards, becoming drivers of change and agents of innovation.

This applies to companies that:
✅ Are growing rapidly and need qualified employees or need to retrain their current staff.
✅ Faced with the current problems of the labor market. For example in retail it crucial to reduce employee turnover and maintain loyalty.

Awara IT was honored to participate in the HR Brand Central Asia Conference, where we submitted a project for the Best CIS HR Brand nomination. 🔋 Less energy consumption means more calculations ⬆

We like to ask experts what they are interested in beyond today's projects and what news attracts their attention. Our last conversation provided insights on energy efficiency. Vitaly Borodin, Director of Innovative Products at Awara IT, shared his thoughts:

"It will soon be possible to reduce the energy consumption required for AI operations by more than 10 times. Researchers at the UC Santa Cruz have eliminated a very resource-intensive computing unit, making 100 W·h sufficient—similar to a bright light bulb. For instance, the computers with graphics adapters we currently use consume 1200 kW·h. This significant reduction will lower the cost of equipment, as the high energy consumption of video cards and other components largely determines the expense.

Exciting news also came from Geely, who are closely competing with Tesla Motors. They introduced a new military-grade solid-state battery for next-generation electrical engineering. This battery is more compact, does not ignite when damaged, and can be thrown. More importantly, its energy density is much higher than existing batteries.

Why is this significant? The battery is available not only for cars but also for other devices. This means our phones might last a week on a single charge instead of just one day. This marks a new era, as our smartphones, which are currently 'wireless', are still tied to chargers and power banks.

Over the past two years, there have been many such innovations, including from Panasonic Chemical. However, the key difference is that these updates are now coming from production departments rather than just research teams.

Having worked with Chinese companies, I know how quickly and efficiently they refine devices and eliminate flaws. It can be expected that these new products will soon enter the market and revolutionize our technology."
