At Bermes Project and Aromics Biotech , we are interested in this layer of cancer biology: understanding how RNA regulation can be translated into new therapeutic opportunities.

Because sometimes the most interesting way to change a protein is not to target the protein itself.

One of the most important questions in biotech financing is not:

How much money does the company need?

It is:

What uncertainty will that money remove?

Dispatch Bio offers an interesting example.

The company was financed with more than $200M to take a differentiated solid-tumour CAR-T strategy into humans. But the logic behind the financing is even more relevant than the amount: the objective was not simply to reach the clinic.

It was to reach clinical data.

That distinction matters.

Entering Phase I is a development milestone.

Generating human evidence that changes how investors and pharma perceive the biological and clinical risk of an asset is a value inflection point.

For emerging biotech, these are not the same thing.

The strongest financing strategies are therefore increasingly built backwards from the dataset that can change the category of the asset:

human exposure → target engagement → biological effect → early clinical signal.

Capital should not simply fund development.

It should fund de-risking.

What if RNA could reveal new vulnerabilities in pleural mesothelioma?

Pleural mesothelioma remains a difficult-to-treat cancer, and new therapeutic strategies are still urgently needed.

At Bermes Project, the EU funded project of Aromics Biotech , we are exploring RNA biology to better understand cancer mechanisms and identify new opportunities for therapeutic intervention.

Our goal is to connect molecular insight with translational research — turning a deeper understanding of RNA into possibilities that could ultimately matter. #
