This Saturday celebrate Record Store Day with Discos Edison's, Tvinyl & Ander B.

We aren't officially releasing anything but we're a record shop, it's international record store day and we want to make some noise for a good reason!

"Ets tan autèntica" / "You're So Authentic"

Dedicated to a family of honour, a live auction of a solid gold selection of 50 7" vinyl records starting at 50 cents a record.

A portion of the money made will go towards the cause for freedom of expression and human rights. We chose gold because it shines brighter.

We'll be adding records to this album every day, so stay tuned!

Sound: This song is so much more than latin disco, it should be classified as latin porngroove horror disco. It doesn’t disappoint, with the inclusion of a throbbing heart, heavy breathing, gasps for air, romantic strings and loads of horns. It sounds like variety show material at its most intriguing.
I didn’t know that!: Original lead singer Léroy Gomez still keeps the band going under The New Santa Esmeralda. The last album they released was in 2006 under the title “Hasta Luego”.

Sound: The horn and vocals take the cake in this suggestive disco hit. Internationally recognised and a natural floorfiller, it’s contagiously funky.
I didn’t know that!: The original recording, with more “uh-huhs” than acceptable, was considered too provocative to play on the radio. Some say the original, despite being risqué at the time, would’ve been more successful than the tamed down version.

Sound: This Barry White instrumental symphonic track paved the way for disco music. Until then, creamy vocals had been the Love Walrus’ forte. Made on purpose for getting it on, it seduces as danceable smooth Philly soul.
I didn’t know that!: “It’s Now or Never” by Elvis Presley was what got Barry White turned on by the music industry. He first heard it when he ended up in jail for theft. The King had such a great impact on White it inspired him to change his ways.

Sound: Bohannon was a Renaissance man on the disco scene. “Disco Stomp” is a nice geography lesson as he guides you through Philadelphia, D.C, Baltimore, Newark, Boston, Chicago and New York City. The faster-paced Foot Stompin Music gives a more extroverted version of Bohannon.
I didn’t know that!: In his early days as a drummer, Bohannon played in a band with Jimi Hendrix in Atlanta before getting a teaching and music degree. In 1964 he was recruited to play drums in 13-year old Stevie Wonder’s band.
