Our hardware and software partners—those who let us experiment and beta test their products; we are advocates for the continued advancement of the craft of engineering, and we appreciate the opportunities. Because of all this, we want to give back. We’ve partnered with some of our favorite companies to gift some of our favorite products of 2023.
The GOLY PG Porter Grinder Mastering EQ is based on the highly regarded “NetEQ” by the late Barry Porter. After many years of tinkering with the design, building, listening, adjusting, and doing custom units with various solutions—the only thing that remains unchanged is the parallel filter section. The in and output sections, the high and low pass filters, the layout of the circuit, the Q circuit, and the implementation of the EQ has been redesigned. When the listening tests were done, GOLY took an intense dive into the controls’ details and precision. The result is still a Porter at its core but also very much a Grinder.
