Currently uploading the last photos for Swinging Undermoon. I've been taking or looking at photos from this event for 10 days straight now 😅 Rhctangles. And it's has become a dreamlike colourful swirling memory for me.
Being an artist - who provides a service - often leaves me with complex emotions, believing in myself enough to tell people what I do is the first step. Then later hoping that other people even like what I offer is another. Trying to not compare myself to other photographers also slightly bothersome. Although sometimes I doubt myself or judge myself harshly, I take pictures that I like, I think life has a dreamlike quality and thats what I hope I capture and share with you.
Being a dancer - I met some wonderful energetic and inspiring people, and not just those I may have shared a conversation with but those of you I danced with and watched through my lens from afar also. The final night (see photos) was a Dj set by Markus dedicated to a dear friend of his from London, the place where I was born but not the place I discovered swing dancing which was like finding my soulmate.
Being Robyn - Listening to Markus's diverse set made me reflective about life lol about these gigantic worlds within worlds clashing into other worlds, growing up constantly exposed to other cultures, how traveling Europe to dance has been one of the greatest adventures of my life after moving to Spain and being unbearably fortunate to have so many worlds, I'm looking forward to going home to London to be with my family this Christmas, to continuing my life in Spain and learning and exploring more through dance. All the elements of goodness have fallen on me and I'm grateful to everyone who has taught me, supported me, believed in me and smiled at me. & Thank you 2018.
