LATEST TRAVEL RULES AND REGULATIONS AS PER THE .GOV WEBSITE.

If you are planning a visit to the UK to see family and friends for Christmas, make sure that you are up to date with the latest rules.

At the current time, the rules are that, if you are fully vaccinated, you must book and pay for a PCR test to be taken any time after you arrive and before the end of day 2 at the latest. The day you arrive is day 0. You must then quarantine until you receive a negative result.

If you’re in England for less than 2 days, you still need to book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test. You must quarantine until you receive a negative day 2 COVID-19 PCR test, or until you leave England, whichever is sooner.

If you are not fully vaccinated with two doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a one-dose vaccine, you must take a pre-departure test, a day 2 and a day 8 test.

PLANNED SOCIAL SECURITY CONTRIBUTION REFORMS FOR THE SELF EMPLOYED ... under the new rules, there would be 13 contribution brackets for the self-employed, who would pay a monthly amount anywhere between a minimum of €90 up to a maximum of €1,220, depending on their income.

Social Security contributions are obligatory for all (foreign) workers in Spain, whether they are employed or self-employed.

The Social Security system in Spain is designed to provide the working population with a variety of medical and financial coverage that covers a variety of accidents and contingencies.

By contributing to this, you will be entitled to the same level of protection as all nationals. It is paid mainly for by workers’ contributions (currently around 6.4% of the monthly salary), but the state also contributes around 20%.

Coverage under Spanish Social Security legislation generally means that you are exempt from making contributions to your country of origin; However, agreements between Spain and other EU/EEA countries allow nationals of these countries and residents of Spain to continue to be part of their national Social Security system for a limited period.
