The following information has been presented by Lee Coombes, former Vice President of UGR.
It is in response to a recent email communicated by Han Koek, President of the Sports Association. Please read it in full. A copy is also in possession of the management board of UGR.
I Lee Coombes, would like the following message conveyed to the community, by email at the earliest convenience. I am completely fed up of the constant lies being spread about me by members of the Sports Association.
This email sent by HK, is full of accusations, which in his own words "This is not fact, but an assumption".... ,Make of that what you will. Personally I would not communicate anything on an assumption, unless I had proof.
HK mentions that my name was mentioned along with Frank Fairbrother in a recorded video where the former president and owner of Amigos are discussing a hostile takeover. I have 2 issues with this:
1. Prior to joining the committee, I had never once discussed the MP with Frank or any other committee members, why would I? I have no affiliation to Amigos. And why would I be discussing with Frank? I don't think I actually knew him at this point.
2. Why is somebody making video recordings of conversations without individuals consent? I am sure this is illegal in Spain, I may be wrong. I actually requested a copy of this in an email to HK Back in December - I didn't get a response, should I make assumptions as he does?
HK then mentions that on 13th August 2024, he received an email from me where he is "Burned to the ground". In his other version of events "The destruction of the Meeting Place" he states the email was from "The Management Committee" - which is correct!! So he contradicts himself! Any email I sent, was discussed, agreed and approved by all members of the management committee. One of us had to actually click the "Send" button obviously. I have not once sent an email that was from my self only.
When the Diner returned to its location near the gym, HK states under my management. I was there at the request of the Management board to ensure it was located in the correct place. Good job really, as HK turned up shouting and screaming that it could not be put in place, even though it was being placed in the car park next to the gym.... nothing to do with the MP.
HK claims he has spoken to Cita and she has had many complaints about me. Where are these complaints? Not once has Cita mentioned anything to me. So I ask that HK or Cita produce evidence of this conversation..... and the complaints.
HK says that I did not attend the meeting in September, but "Heard about it goes wild again". I did not attend the meeting as I was in Manchester on business. I made observations about the fictitious accounts that had been prepared by the SA treasurer, quite frankly they were not worth the paper they had been written on. I have copies of the accounts and the previous years prepared ones... They bare no resemblance to each other when one should follow on from the other.... But without going into full detail, here is one basic insight... Over 2k spent on Stationery by the SA. Does that remotely sound believable? I think others should scrutinise these accounts as I did and make their own conclusions.
"On October 23, we received news that Lee Coombes resigned as GVP and as VP RB 20. What could be the reason for this?"
The reason as HK is aware is for personal reasons. Not that its any of his business, but you may also note that I am shortly moving from UGR??? Also, my personal business is none of his or anyone else's!!!
I will let you all make your own decisions and "assumptions" about everything else that HK has put into his Sports Association communication, conveniently issued just before the AGM. Does he or one of his cronies have plan to run for President? We shall see....
Before I go, I draw your attention to an email I sent HK on 5 December 2024, which he did not respond too:
Good afternoon Han,
I write in response to the recent email you have sent Cita. As you are aware, I have resigned from the board, but feel I must respond to this email as quite frankly your lies about me continue so lets put some things into perspective. You call me a keyboard warrior, yet whenever you see me, you politely say hello, which is completely spineless when you send these emails behind my back..... Cowardly actions. But expected unfortunately.
So lets deal with the things you have raised about me in your email.
Apparently you have a video where the individuals who run the Dinky Diner mentioned "Lee C".
1. Firstly, I'd like a copy of this to take to the police, as its illegal to record conversations in Spain on video.
2. Secondly if people are mentioning my name in relation to finances, I'd like to know who and in what context so I can challenge them as I have no interest in any business in Spain and no intention too either, as I only work and practice in the UK.
You state that you assume that Cita, Frank and I were involved in the takeover of the MP by Dawn Dean. Have you ever heard the saying "To assume makes and ass out of you and me". Its correct in this case!!! How could I have been involved? I wasn't on the committee at this point so had no say on any matters? I would hope you would have enough intelligence to work this out yourself? Maybe not?
You say "L Coombes took advantage of this " when discussing a period when Dawn was operating the MP. What business is it off yours where I frequent and when? I have been to the MP many times, also under the new stewardship that took over when Dawn resigned. The only reason I don't go there now is due to number of toxic individuals who go there who I don't want to socialise with. Thats my choice. I prefer the atmosphere at the Teleclub and socialising and learning from the Spanish residents.
You state that since I became Vice president, things have accelerated. This is correct. I was given a remit as part of the Audit committee to address matters of financial significance. The community voted that the SA should pay its electricity. So we attempted to recoup the debts. You will note that I have not sent any emails personally on this matter, they have all come from the Management team. Every email was reviewed, discussed and approved by us all. So this personal vendetta you think I have against you, is completely false. I would have did exactly the same no matter who was in charge of the SA.... Its basic economics.
"Lee Coombes has announced often enough that he wanted to tackle the people of the MP"....... Where are these announcements? Have I taken out an advert? Or put posters up around the resort? I think not. Just another false accusation? Show me some evidence please?
You say that when the Dinky Diner came back, under my leadership, they wanted to go back to their original spot. Again, this is completely untrue. Instead of shouting like a raving banshee, had you taken time to listen to what was being said, you would have known the intention was always to be where it is now situated. I was only there to facilitate the opening of the toilets etc. So stop making stories up.
Han, I have never had a personal issue with you. You clearly have one with me. But I cannot help that unfortunately. Had you just approached me and discussed matters like an adult, I'm sure we could have spoken with respect. I question this now.....
I am more than happy to sit and talk with you at any point. You will note that actions are continuing with the management team and committee which I think are the best for the community, but you cannot blame me for this as I am not party too it. But you still continue to slander me? What is your personal problem?
I hope you will take time to read and understand my words here. Any further slanders, lies etc communicated about me will mean I have no option than to seek legal advice.
