Project ¨Voluntariado Visible¨ will bring together 38 young people from 13 different countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Hungary, Portugal, Italy, Estonia, Turkey, Malta, and Spain in a 6 days training course, that will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in winter of 2012. During this project the participants together will learn various ways and means ho

w to make volunteer work more visible, they will learn how to promote volunteerism in society so that representatives of government and businesses could realize the value of volunteering, in order to obtain recognition of volunteerism in the future, to get the political and financial support, and to be observed and multiplied by various media. Objectives of this project are contribute to achieving the objectives of the European Year of Volunteering 2011, to raise awareness about the value and importance of the volunteerism and strengthening of voluntary organizations, by encouraging cooperation and exchange of experiences. Participants will learn specific practical skills - to create strategies for promotion and to create a professional video that will promote volunteers work in attractive way. Activities: doing short videoclips and videos, working in groups, making interviews in the streets, visiting various entities that are active in volunteering in Gran Canaria. The non-formal education methods will be used in this training course; participants will be consulted by experts in the promotion and producers companies that work for TV, documentaries and short-movies. Project is organized by Association Centro Intercultural ideas de Colores, financed by the EU programme ¨Youth in Action¨

Action 4.3 - Training and Networking - TRAINING COURSE

GRAN CANARY SOFT-SKILLS:
"First Steps"

SUMMARY
The Ministry of Youth and Equality of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (Council of Gran Canaria island) begin to develop their round of projects that is support for young persons of different professionals who want to implement their first steps as professionals and entrepreneurs. The project aims to encourage the development of entrepreneurial initiatives and provide a forum for management and administrative support to young graduates, between 18 and 30 years, residents on the island of Gran Canaria.
The activity "First Steps" is part of bigger project and offer young professional support and initial support necessary and to start their employment with good prospects of success.

OBJECTIVES
The objective of this TC is to provide necessary and fundamental support for the start of the business to newly qualified young people, so they could feel confident for the continued development of their profession. The project aims to strengthen self-motivation, courage, self-confidence of young people, working and strengthening their personalities as well as their professional part.
This project also aims to Encourage the creation of "self-employment. The participants will learn how to use and trust on their Soft-Skills, to feel confident with their ideas as entrepreneurs, to be able to start their business with the courage and attitude that guides into success. Soft skills is the cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, personal habits, friendliness, and optimism that characterize relationships with other people. As the Soft skills relate to a person's ability to interact effectively and are broadly applicable both in and outside the workplace, during this TC we will learn better about interpersonal skills, Self motivation, Leadership, Presentation skills, Coaching and others.)

TARGET GROUP
Young people (can be professionals from different professional background) interested in Soft-Skills, Entrepreneurship, Self-employment, etc. (Age: 18-30). 5 Pax x Organization /Country

Conditions: Reimbursement of 70% of the travel costs, 100% of living costs will be covered (meal, accommodation). No participation fee.

After the TC when all get back to their homes in their countries, now we are happy to receive any news. Here comes some news from Lithuania. Newspapers, magazines of Lithuania are writing about Gintaras, who was our Trainer & Expert but who is a for 20 years as a TV star and Media business professional in his country. But here in Gran Canaria he was sharing how to make Volunteering Visible.
