The last phase of our work for consisted on coordinating the curation of the magazine’s launch event together with in Madrid’s .

Since the first issue revolves around The Philippines’ art and design traditions, the set was inspired by Kamayan dining style (also known as Boodle Fight), where guests have to eat off banana leaves with their bare hands.

In addition, chose traditional ingredients for a vegan menu and a selection of Spanish moscatel wines that were a hint to traditional Filipino mass wines.

The result? An extremely funny dinner whose format is perfect to break the ice among strangers while it encourages guests to engage with the publication’s content through food.

Inspired by Sumi-e (ink painting) techniques, logo is a delicate example of Wabi-Sabi, which translates as imperfect beauty that shows the passing of time.

In fact, when developing the brand’s identity, we used ink brushstrokes as a brand element, scattering them around the pages of the magazine to create moments of surprise.

Brand strategy for , an internal editorial project we developed alongside the talented .perl .

The magazine delves into the relationship between design, culture and the environment in selected destinations. It takes its name from the Japanese expression “Mono no Aware” - the beauty of impermanence - so we researched into East Asian aesthetic sensibilities and editorial traditions.

The result is a premium landscape-format bookzine rich in blank space, overlapping elements and bold ink brushstrokes that elevates any bookcase.

At the moment your palms touch the wet clay, there is this feeling of being totally present and connecting with your roots through art and craftsmanship.
