🔬 We are proud to share a new publication by our Sustainability Engineer, Patricio Iván Cano Santana, developed as part of Blue Synergy’s work in the NANOMAT project!

Published in Cleaner Environmental Systems, the study addresses an important challenge in the Life Cycle Assessment of nanoelectronics: the lack of representative inventory data for specialised materials and chemicals.

The work provides transparent and reusable datasets, contributing to more robust environmental assessments and supporting the development of more sustainable nanoelectronic technologies.

👏 Congratulations to Patricio and all collaborators involved in this great result!

At Blue Synergy we know that a breakthrough in the lab means very little if it never reaches society👥

Without community trust and social acceptance:
❌ Green and digital transitions face friction
❌ Policy alignment lags behind
❌ Market uptake and long-term exploitation stall

How can EU consortia build real trust and measurable engagement?

📢 We are thrilled to share that our Sustainability Engineer, Patricio Cano Santana, and several co-authors have released a new publication on the integrated sustainability assessment of brownfield regeneration, combining LCA, LCC, NPV, S-LCA and SROI.

💡Within the BIOSYSMO Project, this work explores the restoration of the Vieux-Charmont's brownfield and the potential of phyto-management and circular soil-management strategies.

👏This is a great collaborative effort made possible with the contribution from our colleagues at Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, Michel Chalot and Humberto Castillo-Gonzalez, and from our General & Operations director, German Cavero Lopez. Congratulations to all co-authors for their valuable work and support.

🗞️POWERSAT met in Sweden for its latest General Assembly

✅ The consortium recently assembled in beautiful Uppsala for a progress meeting. According to the updates and the feedback from reviewers, the project is on the right track to successfully develop its innovative technologies.

✅ As the project approaches its final year, sustainability becomes especially relevant. Our Engineer, Patricio Ivan Cano Santana, presented the advances on Life Cycle Assessment ( ), Life Cycle Costing ( ) and the opportunities for POWERSAT.

We congratulate all partners for their hard work, and we hope that this last stretch is as successful as the previous two years. 🌱 reminds us that sustainable rural communities are essential for Europe's future.

➡️Rural areas play a vital role in protecting biodiversity, producing food, managing natural resources and driving the transition towards a circular and climate-neutral economy. However, achieving this transition requires innovative solutions that are not only technically effective, but also environmentally, economically and socially sustainable.

✅At , we are committed to supporting this transformation by integrating assessments, circularity, social impact analysis and stakeholder engagement into European research and innovation projects. Through our work in EU-funded initiatives, we help ensure that new technologies and bio-based solutions are developed with long-term environmental and societal benefits in mind. From sustainable biomass valorisation and solutions to phytoremediation, resource efficiency and circular value chains, collaborative research is helping create more resilient rural regions across Europe.

👏Today, we celebrate the people, communities and innovators working to build a more sustainable future for rural areas—because innovation has the greatest impact when it improves both people and the planet.
