The Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) donated profits from Norway’s World Cup qualifier match against Israel back in October to Doctors Without Borders, an organization providing humanitarian relief in Gaza.

The NFF said the raised money would be “earmarked for the organization’s emergency relief work on the ground in Gaza”.

“We want to give the profits to an organisation that saves lives in the Gaza Strip every day and that contributes with active emergency aid on the ground, and that is what Doctors Without Borders does.”

The NFF added that from their announcement, one of Norway’s largest investment companies — who wish to remain anonymous — also pledged three million Krone ($305,000, £224,200) towards Doctors Without Borders.

The NFF also provided a donation towards a football project for children in Gaza, and has undergone a long-term initiative working with Palestinian schools and refugee camps, as well as opening coaching pathways for women and girls. 👏🏼

Norway's Football Federation has donated 4.5 million kroner, which is all ticket revenue from its FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Israel, to humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza, saying it could not ignore the suffering of civilians caught in the conflict.

The federation announced that the original ticket proceeds were boosted by additional contributions, bringing the total donation to 4.5 million Norwegian kroner. The funds will go to Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) to help provide emergency medical care in Gaza.

Norway secured a commanding 5-0 victory, with Erling Haaland scoring three goals. Off the field, however, Haaland declined to weigh in on the political discussion, stating that his focus remains on football and helping Norway qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
