What does gastronomy tourism taste like? 🍽️🌱
It tastes like biodiversity, heritage, livelihoods and community.
On Sustainable Gastronomy Day, UN Tourism and its Affiliate Member, the Basque Culinary Center, are proud to launch Good Practices in the Development of Gastronomy Tourism.
Building on the 2019 Guidelines for the Development of Gastronomy Tourism, the publication brings together eight destinations:
🇪🇸 Basque Country, Spain
🇧🇷 Brazil
🇨🇿 Brno, Czechia
🇨🇦 Canada
🇨🇱 Chile
🇲🇽 Quintana Roo, Mexico
🇸🇮 Slovenia
🇪🇸 Spain
to examine how each has applied the Guidelines to strengthen culinary identity, boost competitiveness and generate social, cultural and economic impact.
Through structured case studies, it offers a practical reference framework for destinations developing gastronomy tourism as a driver of sustainable development, in line with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
8 destinations. 1 shared vision.
