From university, to internships at Amazon and State Street, to Santander’s Investment Banking Graduate Programme.

Jack joined Santander in 2023 through its one-year graduate programme, completing rotations across the bank alongside a Corporate Finance course at IE University

Since then, he’s had the opportunity to work with international companies, CEOs and CFOs, and gain exposure to transactions where no two days are the same.

What can a short internship actually do for your career?

David joined L’Oréal in 2016 for a 10-week summer internship with YSL Beauty. After progressing through roles across marketing, digital activation, customer experience and e-commerce, he is now E-Commerce Content Lead Europe for L’Oréal’s Luxury Division.

His advice for anyone starting an internship is simple: get the basics right, be reliable, be proactive, work well with the people around you, and build relationships with people who can eventually vouch for you.

An internship might only last a few months, but the impression you make can last much longer.
