Before algorithms, we had to move.

This was my first piece of moving marketing.

A Westfalia VW camper van for my nightclub, Liquid, in Leeds.
Dropped suspension. Porsche wheels.

A £15,000 sound system — more than the van itself.

We took it everywhere.
Including France during the 1998 World Cup, when France beat Brazil 3–0.

The image was shot for an advert in Exchange Quarterly, a magazine I owned to help reframe a run-down part of the city where the club lived.

I didn’t trademark the name.
The concept was copied.
I lost the court case.

Painful lesson.
But it taught me this:
If you don’t shape the story, someone else will.

Different industry now.
Same human psychology.

Congratulations, NoPainNigel, on your retirement!

It’s been an honour to work alongside you. We first started collaborating over sixteen years ago — and what a journey it’s been.

Now at 70 years young, after 45 years in dentistry, you’re stepping away from the clinic — but your impact is still echoing around the world.

You didn’t just change dentistry…
You restored trust for millions of patients.

Your pain-free philosophy inspired a global shift — including the founding of the Dental Mavericks charity, which now delivers pain-free dentistry to vulnerable communities across the globe.

You showed us that being pain-free isn’t just a technique.
It’s a promise.
A philosophy.
A movement.

And the best part? Your techniques are repeatable in any practice — empowering the next generation of clinicians to continue what you started.

Thank you for your legacy.
Thank you for your heart.
Thank you for your friendship.

Happy retirement, my friend.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
