A special visit as IAC 2026 enters its final stretch. It was a pleasure to welcome Josef Aschbacher, Director General of the ESA - European Space Agency, to our stand in Antalya, where he exchanged a few words with our Head of Business Development, Antón Vázquez.

We’ve also been working side by side with GMV, with both stands right next to each other at the Spanish Pavilion (Booth 1D-10), sharing the week as one team.

There’s nothing quite like watching your team's engineering launch into space in real time! 🚀 ✨

Last week, we gathered the live launch of the 5 satellites we manufactured for Sateliot.space’s Draconis mission.

From our Nigrán office and our remote colleagues on screen to our team on-site at the event, we celebrated this milestone together as a team.

Beyond the tech, moments like this show what our culture is all about: passion, teamwork, and brilliant talent.

IAC 2026 is underway in Antalya, Türkiye 🛰️

From 5 to 9 October, you can find Alén Space at the ICEX Spanish Pavilion, Booth 1D-10.

Today, we were pleased to welcome Jordi Hereu, Minister of Industry and Tourism of the Government of Spain, to our stand, where he spoke with our Head of Business Development, Antón Vázquez.

Five new satellites in orbit 🛰️

The five 6U CubeSats manufactured by Alén Space for Sateliot.space’s Draconis mission have been successfully launched aboard a Falcon 9 on SpaceX’s Transporter-18 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

After lifting off through the California fog, the satellites are now in orbit, ready to expand the capacity of Sateliot’s 5G NTN IoT network and increase connection frequency in areas without terrestrial mobile coverage.

For Alén Space, Draconis marks another milestone in the evolution of our small satellite production capabilities.

Yesterday, we took part in the 2026 Annual Meeting of Alianza Observa, held at INTA’s facilities in Madrid, Spain, and focused on the challenges and opportunities for future Spanish Earth Observation missions.

Our teammate Jacobo Fernández, Product Owner at Alén Space, attended the event together with colleagues from GMV and contributed to the programme with the session “IVSEN: Advanced Microsatellite for Earth Observation”. In his presentation, he explained our role in the project, detailing how we lead the design and development of the microsatellite platform subsystems, focusing on high-rate communications, precise pointing stability, and power management to support Satlantis' high-resolution optical payload for energy infrastructure monitoring.

A good opportunity to showcase a project that also involves Satlantis, DHV Technology and GeoAI as part of the InCubed programme, managed by the ESA - European Space Agency's Φ-lab Division 🛰️

Ayer participamos en la Jornada Anual 2026 de Alianza Observa, celebrada en las instalaciones del INTA - Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial en Madrid, centrada en los retos y oportunidades para las futuras misiones españolas de observación de la Tierra.

Nuestro compañero Jacobo Fernández, Product Owner de Alén Space, asistió al evento con nuestros compañeros de GMV y contribuyó al programa con la sesión “IVSEN: Microsatélite avanzado para la observación de la Tierra”. En su presentación, se centró en el papel que desempeñamos en el proyecto, detallando cómo lideramos el diseño y desarrollo de los subsistemas de la plataforma del microsatélite, con especial atención a las comunicaciones de alta velocidad, la estabilidad del apuntamiento de alta precisión y la gestión de potencia para dar soporte a la carga útil óptica de alta resolución de Satlantis, destinada a la monitorización de infraestructuras de energía.

Una buena oportunidad para dar a conocer un proyecto que compartimos con Satlantis, DHV Technology y GeoAI como parte parte del programa InCubed, gestionado por la División Φ-lab de la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA) 🛰️

The European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) hosted the official kick-off and contract signing for the Consolidation Phase of the ESA - European Space Agency’s IRIS2 Low-LEO Pre-Operational and De-Risk Activities, within the Agency's Programme Related to EU Secure Connectivity.

This event brought together leading companies to mark the official start of strategic projects designed to drive the future of LEO technology.

At Alén Space, we continue to strengthen our position as a trusted technology partner in the small satellite sector by contributing our engineering capabilities, specialized hardware, and mission integration expertise to three major projects:

👉 ARGUS: Led by GMV to combine radio-frequency interference detection, and spectrum and space domain awareness through a distributed constellation of small satellites, paving the way for future governmental services under IRIS².
👉 Poseidon: Led by OHB Italia, alongside GMV and other partners, to develop satellite services for maritime surveillance and safety.
👉 LYRA: Led by SpaceLocker to provide greater connectivity to end users operating existing or planned LEO satellites.

These initiatives highlight our technical flexibility and readiness to tackle complex mission requirements in LEO alongside leading industry partners 🛰️

Big news is getting closer at Alén Space 🛰️

A few days ago, the 14 new business units developed by the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFV) in Porto do Molle (Nigrán, Spain) were officially inaugurated. One of them will soon become our new home.

The event brought together David Regades, Special State Delegate for CZFV; Pedro Blanco, Government Delegate in Galicia; Abel Losada, Government Subdelegate in Pontevedra; and the mayors of Nigrán, Juan González; Vigo, Abel Caballero; and Gondomar, Francisco Ferreira, as well as representatives from companies based at the Porto do Molle business park.

We are now counting down to the move. A new space for a growing team, more projects and the next stage of Alén Space’s journey.

Llegan grandes noticias para Alén Space 🛰️

Hace unos días se inauguraron oficialmente 14 nuevas naves empresariales desarrolladas por Consorcio Zona Franca de Vigo (CZFV) en Porto do Molle (Nigrán). Una de ellas será muy pronto nuestra nueva casa.

El acto reunió a David Regades, delegado especial del Estado en el CZFV; Pedro Blanco, delegado del Gobierno en Galicia; Abel Losada, subdelegado del Gobierno en Pontevedra; y los alcaldes de Nigrán, Juan González; Vigo, Abel Caballero; y Gondomar, Francisco Ferreira, además de representantes de las empresas instaladas en el parque empresarial de Porto do Molle.
