Das verstaubte Öko-Image trifft schon längst nicht mehr auf die stetig wachsende Zahl an Veganern zu. In der Gastro heißt es vielmehr: Je hipper ein Laden ist, umso mehr vegane Gerichte stehen auf der Speisekarte (oder sogar umgekehrt 💁‍♀️). Ganz zu schweigen von Soy Latte und Cappucchino ☕ mit Hafermilch, die mittlerweile in jedem guten Café anstandslos zu haben sind.

GENF. Die Land- und Viehwirtschaft trage übermässig zum Klimawandel bei, warnt die UNO. Man solle daher weniger Fleisch essen.

Die Fleischproduktion ist in der Herstellung und Produktion eine Belastung für die Umwelt.
Wüstenbildung, Wasserknappheit – und dazu das dramatische Bevölkerungswachstum: Der UNO-Weltklimarat hat bei der Vorstellung eines Sonderberichts zur Landnutzung ein dringendes Umdenken bei der Bewirtschaftung von Land und Wäldern gefordert. Der Menschheit könnten demnach eine Klimakatastrophe und eine Ernährungskrise drohen, wenn sich der Agrarsektor nicht rasch ändere.

Jedoch gebe es ein Dilemma zwischen Klimaschutz und Nahrungsmittelversorgung. Hier sei das Konsumentenverhalten ein zentraler Ansatzpunkt. Einerseits soll weniger Essen weggeworfen werden, andererseits sollen Lebensmittel konsumiert werden, deren Produktion einen möglichst geringen Ausstoss von klimaschädlichen Gasen mit sich bringt. Die UNO hebt dabei die Vorteile von «pflanzenbasierten Lebensmitteln» hervor. Laut Greenpeace müsste der Fleischkonsum weltweit bis 2050 um die Hälfte verringert werden. In der Schweiz seien es sogar 70 bis 90 Prozent.

Die Ausbeutung von Land, die Abholzung von Wäldern und die Treibhausgasbelastung durch die Landwirtschaft müssten drastisch reduziert werden, so die UNOWissenschaftler. Laut dem Sonderbericht sind die Agrarwirtschaft und ihre Zulieferer für 37 Prozent aller menschengemachten Emissionen verantwortlich.

The Amazon rainforest is burning have you heard about it? Well, most people have. And quite a few are opening up to the idea to explore other options when it comes to their mest consumption. Now....this looks like a Burgerpatty, right?☝️ Well. It is. It is the Burger. A Burger designed to cater to non-vegans! You know...people who want to do something for the environment and their kid's planet.
This Burger is absolutely delicious! Everybody loves it...except vegans who say it is too real for them. ✊
Try it .... for example. You won't believe it. And hopefully realize: These kind of foods are our future!

What's wrong with this picture? Nothing? Well, I will tell you: This is a nice plate of grilled vegetables. The only thing vegans will find in many restaurants around the world. If this restaurant had put a little more effort into creating a vegan dish with the ingredients they already have in their kitchen, I would be praising them by now and tell all my vegan friends to check it out. 🗣✊
But like this 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Nothing.
Eventhough the veggies were good I would not send my friends here.. they can all make better vegan dishes at home, so why would they pay to come here?! Answer: They wouldn't.

It is vital that you know what "vegan" really means. This Restaurant owner in Port Andratx runs a vegan & vegetarian restaurant. She is an expert of course. When serving the food she clearly pointed out the dishes that were not vegan and/ or gluten free. That is the kind of services vegans really appreciate!
The name of the Restaurant is Natural Cafe in Port Andratx and the food was amazing! 💚👍
