🤝 What a productive day in Athens — proud to share that AITEC attended the validation workshop on behalf of the Fitter Project at 2025 congress in Athens (26 August 2025).

At the heart of the workshop was a hands-on effort to refine and validate indicators for the twin (green + digital) transition — from regional specialisation and patent/publication mapping to occupation- and skill-level indices designed to make transition risks and opportunities visible to policymakers.

Fitter Project— represented by AITEC — contributed to offering constructive feedback on the project development and interim results.

We value the collaborative spirit of and the chance to bridge research and policy. By validating interim results together, Fitter Project and AITEC are helping ensure the final tools will be actionable for regions facing unequal access to twin-transition jobs and training.

🎉 We’re thrilled to share that our team presented a our conference paper at ERSA 2025 congress in Athens — “An Evolutionary Tree Framework for a Fair and Inclusive Twin Transition in Europe” (Special Session: Twin Transition and its Unequal Geography).

At AITEC-INTL we authored this work alongside partners from TFC Research and Innovation Limited and TUDublin — Aditya Kapoor, Gemma Molero Prieto, Francisco Santarremigia Rosaleny (corresponding), Mehdi Zarehparast Malekzadeh, Ashwani Kumar Malviya, PhD, Tom Flynn and Chiara Leva — and showcased how the Fitter Project uses a living, seasonal “evolutionary tree” metaphor (Winter → Spring → Summer) to turn research into policy-ready tools.

Key highlights:

• An actionable framework to map research stages into policy outputs — from data collection and vulnerability mapping (Winter), through KPI-driven scenario building (Spring), to a policy-facing, gamified digital platform with an Intelligent Predictive Decision-Support System (Summer).
• Six country case studies (DE, HU, IT, IE, ES, PT) across four priority sectors (energy, transport, building & housing, agri-food) to ensure the approach is replicable and context-sensitive.
• Development of composite risk indicators and simulation tools that help policymakers forecast who might be most affected by twin-transition policies — and which mitigation measures are most efficient and equitable.
• A co-creation, stakeholder-led approach to ensure the platform and outputs promote anticipatory, just, and inclusive policymaking.
