Diego Losada Bodegas La Senda In A Gadda Da Vida $33!!!

Grape Varietals: Godello, Doña Blanca, Palomino, Malvasia

In A Gadda Da Vida is the only white wine made by La Senda. It is an expression of 60 to 90-year-old small vineyard parcels situated amongst woods and wild nature located around the town of Hervededo, on the eastern side of Bierzo. The wine is a blend of Godello, Doña Blanca, Palomino, Malvasia and a “mystery grape” that Diego has yet to identify. The wine is fermented in old open-top French oak barrels and sees 10 days of skin contact, then racked to neutral French oak barrels for 8 months of raising before being bottled without fining, filtration or added SO2. This is an electrically charged vino blanco, bursting with orchard fruit, zippy acid and lingering minerality. Pair it with anything from the sea or white meats fresh off the grill.

Dans le Bierzo, ses vignes sont là depuis bien longtemps : après la crise du phylloxéra, dans la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle, cette petite région où la viticulture remonte à l’époque romaine en fut à tel point traumatisée qu’on n’y replanta la vigne qu’à partir du milieu du XXe siècle. Le Bierzo est une des régions viticoles d’Espagne qui comporte le plus de vieilles vignes. Diego crée en 2012 le domaine La Senda (« le sentier »). Ses vins seront comme lui : honnêtes, francs, naturels et expressifs.

[NEW] Vintages of Diego Losada, from his domain La Senda ! 🍇

In the Bierzo, his vineyards have been there for a long time: after the phylloxera crisis in the second half of the 19th century, this small area - where viticulture dates back to Roman times - was so traumatized that vines were only replanted there from the middle of the 20th century. The Bierzo is therefore one of the wine-growing regions in Spain with the most old vines. In 2012, Diego created La Senda ("the path"). His wines will be like him : honest, frank, natural and expressive.

Super delicious red that I have never tried before. Didn’t know La sanda, or the cepage Mencia. Raspberry, cherry, strawberry, ripped red fruits. Fresh and juicy, a little journey in a bar in spain under the sun. Should have made tapas !

When we first visited his bodega we knew the wines were legit. To have them all back on our list at home in Santa Barbara is a vibe all in itself.

Posted • Fresh arrivals from Diego Losada in Bierzo - and with two new wines! 🤘🏻🤘🏿🤘🏻🤘🏿2019 In Absentia - 100% Trosseau (Bastarda), 913 bottles produced. Light and juicy, with peppery notes and a slight effervescent finish ❤️ 2016 Har Megiddo - Malvasia and Moscatel, 613 bottles produced. 140 days of maceration. Aromatic and funky, with bright acidity 🤍 Both unfiltered and with no added sulphites. Diego - you rock!

Posted • .fr Vindemiatrix 2019, La Senda 🍷 Ce rouge est dense, homogène et équilibré. Il se compose de mencia (90 %) et de 10 % de doña blanca et de palomino 🍇 Ses vignes, âgées de soixante-dix à quatre-vingt-dix ans, sont cultivées dans le nord du Bierzo, dans des sols argilo-calcaires très riches en quartz, à 550 mètres d’altitude. Il est à la fois dense et frais, puissant et fruité (fruits rouges et noirs) et traversé d’un souffle de fumée, de violette et d’épices. Il ira à ravir avec des plats mijotés et de la truffe noire ! Cette bouteille est à 9,20€ au lieu de 11,50€ sur culinaries.fr 📦

Posted • There are still a few cases left of this little gem 😮😧😲 2018 In A Gadda Da Vida from Diego Losada of Bodega La Senda in Bierzo - a white/orange wine from 60-90 year old bushvines of Godello, Doña Blanca, Palomino, Malvasia and a yet-to-be-named ancient varietal⁉️growing on small terrasses alongside forest and wildlife in an altitude of 600 meters above sea 🏔 The wine sees 90 days of skin contact in open top oak barrels, ages in neutral French oak for 8 months and is bottled without filtration and sulphites 🌱 The style is rich and aromatic yet the altitude and chalky soils add an acidic, minerally punch! Come get em while we got em!🧞‍♀️🧞‍♂️🧜‍♀️🧜🕺🏼💃🏼
