This is, without a doubt, the toughest whale rescue I have ever been part of.

Yesterday, our incredible team spent more than 12 hours in the water — with sea temperatures of just 5°C, winds reaching 50 km/h, and air temperatures close to freezing. They are true heroes.

HOPE is fighting. Resting as peacefully as possible, surrounded by a dedicated team that remains on the boats throughout the night, making sure nothing happens.

Conditions are changing every hour, and we are facing two extremely challenging days ahead.

Please keep HOPE in your thoughts and prayers — that he stays strong until we can guide him safely back to the open waters of the North Atlantic.

To Sergio and the courageous rescuers on Poel,

I am writing these lines to you in the deep of the night, while we all wait for the first light of dawn. I am simply blown away – for me and my friends, it is like a dream come true to witness the dedication and the profound, almost magical way you communicate with this wonderful being.

Sergio, seeing how you build a bridge between our world and the world of „Hope“ touches us deeply. It is a privilege to witness this connection. From the bottom of my heart, I wish I could be so close to such an animal one day, to feel this energy personally – under happier circumstances, of course, when Hope is dancing once again in the freedom of the ocean.

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for not giving up when the authorities spoke only of the end. Thank you for defeating the cynicism of others with love and expertise. Your presence restores our faith that life and humanity can triumph over bureaucracy and coldness.
