Muchas veces se habla del papel fundamental que desempeña una madre en la crianza de sus hijos. Y si es verdad, es absolutamente fundamental.
Sin embargo, creo que se habla poco del papel que desempeña el padre.
Creo firmemente que la figura del padre es a ciertas edades, igual o más importante que el de la madre. O eso es lo que yo estoy viendo con mis hijos.

Y pensareis, ¿qué tiene que ver ésto con los vinos?...
¡Mucho!, porque Alberto es no solo el padre de mis hijos, es también el padre y creador de El Lagar de Moha. Nuestra bodega es como es, gracias a lo que él ha pensado e ideado. Yo le he acompañado y ayudado a desarrollarlo, ¡que no es poco, no me voy a quitar mérito!

Así que hoy, en tu día, te quiero felicitar por partida doble, ¡por tus hijos y por tu bodega!
¡Ojalá los veas desarrollarse tanto como tu quieres!

People often talk about the fundamental role a mother plays in raising her children. And it's true, it's absolutely fundamental.
However, I think the role of the father is rarely discussed.
I firmly believe that the father's role is, at certain ages, equal to or more important than the mother's. Or that's what I'm seeing with my children.

A lot! Because Alberto is not only the father of my children, he's also the father and creator of El Lagar de Moha. Our winery is what it is due to what Alberto has thought and conceived. I have accompanied him and helped him develop it, which is no small challenge!

"Más vale lo malo conocido que lo bueno por conocer", refrán muy español que NO aplica al vino.

Si eres de los que van a un restaurante y a la hora de elegir vino, pides uno de una marca conocida. Te diría, ¡arriésgate y haz exactamente lo contrario!. Los vinos que encantan y sorprenden son justo los que no te pedirías nunca.

Ante la carta, a la hora de elegir, guíate por el precio, o porque te suene o conozcas una uva o simplemente elije al azar. ¡El factor sorpresa lo hace mucho más interesante y así podrás descubrir grandes vinos que pasan desapercibidos!

If you are the kind of person that chooses only well known wines whenever you are at a restaurant. I would tell you, take a risk and do exactly the opposite! The wines that are gorgeous are just the ones you would never order.

When looking at the menu, when choosing, be guided by the price, or by the grape or simply choose in a random way. The surprise factor makes it much more interesting and you can discover great wines that go unnoticed!

En El Lagar de Moha hemos comprado gallinas de la raza:

Negra Castellana

Esta raza es autóctona de nuestra zona y se acopla muy bien a nuestro clima, que no es siempre fácil 🤣🤣

Por el momento no podemos llevarlas al viñedo porque se escaparían. Pero una vez estén más aclimatadas queremos que estén libres en la viña y comiendo de manera ecológica.
Las heces de las gallinas aportan al suelo gran cantidad de nutrientes, nitrógeno y otros minerales, haciéndolas muy beneficiosas para el viñedo.

Y quien sabe si más adelante, si las cosas van bien, podemos empezar a tener más y a hacer más cosas con ellas, ¡me gustaría mucho!

At El Lagar de Moha we have purchased chickens of the race:

Negra Castellana

Native from our area it adapts very well to our climate, which is not always easy 🤣

At the moment we cannot take them to the vineyard because they would escape. But once they are more acclimatized we want them to be free in the vineyard and eating organically.
Chicken f***s provide a large amount of nutrients, nitrogen and other minerals to the soil, making them very beneficial for the vineyard.

And who knows if later, if things go well, we can have more and start to do more things with them, I would really like that!

La agricultura biodinámica no es magia, es ciencia y respeto por la naturaleza.

Casi siempre que hablo de biodinámica alguien me dice, "eso está muy bien pero yo no creo en ésto". Y la verdad es que yo siempre pienso lo mismo..."Entiendo que no crean, porque es difícil creer lo que no se entiende".

Hay una parte que no se llega a entender pero que se VE:

Ves que gracias a la agricultura biodinámica el viñedo está lleno de vida, bichos, insectos, plantas, animales, etc...
Ves que has reducido drásticamente el número de tratamientos que tienes que hacer en el viñedo porque la planta está fortalecida
Ves que las uvas que obtienes son de gran calidad y luego los vinos son excelentes
Ves que las evoluciones que tienen los vinos son absolutamente alucinantes, lentas y constantes

Al final, después de todo ésto, solo te queda creer y apostar por la biodinámica como una forma de cultivo que debería quedarse para siempre!

Almost every time I talk about biodynamics someone tells me, "that's great but I don't believe in this." And the truth is that I always think the same thing...
"I understand that they don't believe, because it is difficult to believe what you don't understand."

There is a part that is not understood but is SEEN:

You see that due to biodynamic agriculture the vineyard is full of life, bugs, insects, plants, animals, etc...
You see that you have drastically reduced the number of treatments you have to do in the vineyard because the plant is strengthened
You see that the grapes you get are of great quality and then the wines are excellent
You see that the evolutions that wines have are absolutely amazing, slow and constant.

At the end, after all this, you only have to believe and think on biodynamics as a form of cultivation that should stay forever!

El suelo no es solo el lugar donde crecen las plantas. Es un organismo vivo, lleno de conexiones, de biodiversidad invisible que sostiene todo lo que somos... y todo lo que bebemos y comemos.

En cada grano de tierra está el secreto de los grandes vinos: nutrientes que alimentan las viñas, microorganismos que transforman el terroir en carácter, y nuestra labor de cuidar la tierra para obtener lo mejor de ella. 🍇✨

Este año en vendimia hemos ayudado toda la familia.

Para mi sorpresa, a los niños les ha gustado mucho y quieren repetir.

A mi particularmente, es una actividad que me gusta porque me ayuda a desconectar y a conectar con la naturaleza. 💚

En El Lagar de Moha hemos puesto placas solares para poder sacar el agua del pozo de una manera más eficiente. Hemos dejado de utlizar, por tanto, combustibles fósiles. ¿Por qué hemos hecho ésto?, porque con la energía solar de las placas:

🟩 no se producen emisiones de dióxido de carbono
🟩 no se produce contaminación ni del agua ni del aire, por tanto, es más beneficioso para la salud pública y el medioambiente
🟩 conseguimos ser autosuficientes energéticamente
🟩 obtenemos energía inagotable y renovable

At El Lagar de Moha we have installed solar panels to draw water from the well in a more efficient way. We have therefore stopped using fossil fuels.
Why have we done this? Because with solar energy from the panels:

🟩 no carbon dioxide emissions are produced
🟩 there is no pollution of water or air, therefore, it is more beneficial for public health and environment
🟩 we manage to be energy self-sufficient
🟩 we obtain inexhaustible and renewable energy
