Murmuration Collective Empowering Women for Lasting Transformation. Supported by research, immersed in nature, and surrounded by women who have your back.

26/05/2026

We’ve been getting some DMs asking what actually happens on our Immersive retreats. So Lucy broke it down for all of you.

Day one: pinpointing your current values. Not who you were a year ago. Who you are now. That becomes your North Star for everything that follows.

Day two: we get you into nature. Away from the noise, the calendar, the to-do list. Serotonin and oxytocin doing their thing while our curriculum gets something percolating in you.

Day three: collective wisdom. The women on retreat with you help raise the vibration of what’s forming. They offer perspectives, challenge you, lift the idea to the next level.

Day four: action. You leave with a real plan. And we hold you accountable for bringing it to life in the months that follow.

Add in great food, great wine, plenty of downtime to soak it all in, and women who get it? That’s the Immersive.

Our next retreat is on Flathead Lake in Montana. September 23-26. Come join us. Link in bio to register today.

Add life to your years. Not years to your life.
—Zoë Harris Lazarre

I heard this at SXSW during a panel on aging as a privilege.

We spend so much time and energy trying to slow down the clock. The right skincare, the right supplements, the right habits to add more years, but what if the real question isn’t how long we live but how alive we feel while we’re living?

In a society that is constantly asking us to be younger than we are, instead ask yourself, are you doing things that light you up? Are you spending time with people who make you feel seen? Are you making space for joy, not just productivity? Are you working out your brain too?

One of the panelists said something I keep coming back to, older people are actually happier. Because they’ve learned how to look at time differently. They stop chasing and start savoring. They make decisions based on values, not obligation.

What if we didn’t wait until we were older to live that way?

I don’t want to add years to my life if those years are filled with things I “should” be doing instead of things I want to be doing. I want a life that feels full. Not a calendar that looks full.

What would it look like to add more life to your year starting this week?

Four days on Flathead Lake. No emails. No carpool. No appointments. No zoom calls.

Just yoga at sunrise, curriculum that actually makes you think, afternoons to explore and integrate, meals cooked for you, and evenings around the table with women who get it.

Our Montana Immersive is where you come to pause long enough to hear yourself again. To reconnect with what you actually want, not what your calendar says you should want. To leave with a clearer vision, a plan you believe in, and a community that has your back long after you go home.

“A chance to put your life on hold, escape to a beautiful place, and explore what’s truly in your heart.” That’s how one of our past participants described it. We couldn’t say it better.

Fall gets busy. Make time for you. Your future self will thank you. September 23-26.

This week on Beyond Should, we’re bringing back a favorite from our Collective Wisdom archives.

Lucy sits down with four remarkable women, Becs Gentry, Jenny Simpson, Chirine Njeim, and Hillary Kupish, who conquered The Great World Race: 7 marathons, 7 continents, 7 days. These women, who started as strangers, formed a bond like no other as they pushed themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally to their limits.

Becs Gentry reflects on the societal stigma around prioritizing yourself, especially as a mom. She shares how training for this grueling race forced her to confront the guilt and labels often placed on women when they choose to focus on their goals. Through this journey, Becs realized that taking care of herself wasn’t selfish, it was essential. Becs finished The Great World Race in second place overall, proving that remarkable things happen when we prioritize ourselves.

This episode is packed with lessons on mindset, resilience, teamwork, and daring to dream big. Tune in and let these incredible women inspire you.

Have you ever wondered, what is coaching really? How is coaching different to therapy? What can a coach help me figure out?

A question we ask in coaching a lot is, what do you actually want?

Sounds simple right? Its not. Most women we work with haven’t asked themselves that in years. They’ve been so busy building, caretaking, performing, keeping it all together that they’ve lost track of their own answer.

We built our Immersive retreats around this idea that women just need the time, space, and support to help answer this question. We realize not everyone can take this time out right now, but maybe you want to feel what coaching feels like?

Our Collective Corner, free monthly zoom snap coaching with Lucy, is happening May 27th at 1pm EST. Bring a bottom-line question you’ve been sitting with and let’s work through it together in real time. No prep, just show up. DM us to reserve your spot.

“I’m supposed to look like you, I’m supposed to talk like you, I’m supposed to be as successful as you, I’m supposed to...”

Christina Glickman said this on our very first episode of Beyond Should. And be honest, hands up, how many of us have had this narrative running through our minds?

Think about how much energy it takes to perform. To show up the way you think people need you to. Christina spent years doing exactly that. High performing, giving 100 when someone asked for 10, running on empty and calling it ambition. Until she realized the thing she was giving away first was the very thing she needed to protect most. Her energy.

This episode is about what changes when you start choosing where your energy goes. Choosing who gets your time. Choosing yourself without apology.

If you haven’t listened to this one yet, start here. It’s episode one for a reason. Link in bio.

Oh that lake is calling our name. The countdown is on till we meet in Montana September 23-26.

We can do our best to market our retreats. Put together beautiful imagery with wonderful women, yoga, world class coaches, delicious foods, throw in a deer or two for good measure. But until you experience it in person, the energy that can only be found when a group of women come together, put everything else on hold, and commit to doing the work that fuels them, you just won’t fully get it.

You can just about breathe that air from this reel though, can’t you?

Experience it for real. Join us. Registration now open.

“You have three choices. You’re either a doctor, an engineer, or a failure.”

Shena Patel grew up hearing this as the daughter of two Indian immigrant doctors in a small town in Northern New York. The path was clear, she was to become a neurosurgeon like her father. Excel academically. And whatever you do, don’t question it.

She was fine with the excelling part. It was the doctor part she was never quite sure about.

What followed was a career built entirely on trusting that uncertainty. From pre-med to English Lit to Tiffany to building her own fractional creative practice, Shena kept ignoring the should, and listening to herself.

If you haven’t listened to this episode yet, it’s for anyone who has ever felt the weight of someone else’s vision for their life and wondered what would happen if they followed their own instead.

Did you know we do custom Immersives?

We just wrapped one in Colorado with the Boettcher Foundation and it was incredible.

Same signature TMC curriculum, same world-class coaches, but tailored specifically for their group and their goals.

Our Immersives aren’t one-size-fits-all. We work with organizations, foundations, and companies who want to invest in their women leaders through an experience that goes beyond a typical offsite or team retreat.

If your organization has a group of women who could benefit from a TMC Immersive, we’d love to talk about what a custom retreat could look like for you. Reach out!

Next up we have our Montana Immersive! This isn’t just for the corporate woman, its for any woman looking to get the wheels turning on the goals that have been ruminating. Join us this September 23-26 on Flathead Lake. Get it on your calendar now, your future self will thank you, we promise.

Shena Patel doesn’t go to networking events to land clients. She goes to meet interesting people and have interesting conversations. She goes with no agenda, no expectation. Just curiosity about where it might lead.

One time, a woman she met said “I might have someone you should meet.” Shena sent an email. Then another. Then another. Six months later, it turned into one of the most lucrative relationships of her career. And that person is now a close friend.

Shena has always trusted the long game. She quickly realized pre-med at McGill wasn’t for her. Announced her English Lit major at her dad’s 50th birthday party (worst received birthday present she ever gave). Got accepted to law school and felt her stomach sink because she’d just found the career she actually wanted at Tiffany.

With every pivot she really had to listen to herself even when the “should” was deafening.

This episode is about what happens when you stop following the career you were told you should want and start building the one that actually fits. You’re allowed to change your mind at any stage of your life.

From your name in lights to keeping the lights on.

Shena Patel knows what it’s like to go from a great title, great money, accolades, her name in headlines to taking a gig for 50% of your worth because the economy is crappy and the bills don’t care about your resume. Can anyone else relate?!

And here’s what she learned. That’s not a should. That’s practicality. There’s a difference between what you want to do and what you’ve got to do, and making peace with both is one of the most underrated skills a woman can have.

Shena Patel is a New York–based creative executive, strategist, and writer with over 20 years of experience shaping brand voices and campaigns across luxury, fashion, publishing, lifestyle, and women’s health. Today, she works with founders and CEOs as a fractional creative leader, helping build purpose-driven brands with clarity and impact.

New episode of Beyond Should drops May 5th.
