✨ Kerstmis wordt gevierd met indrukwekkende belenes (kerststallen) die overal te bewonderen zijn. En wist je dat Spanjaarden vaak churros met warme chocolade eten na een gezellige kerstnacht? 🍫

🥂 Oudejaarsavond begint feestelijk met cava, terwijl iedereen aftelt met de druiven, één bij elke klokslag voor geluk in het nieuwe jaar. En geen zorgen: de volgende ochtend wacht een heerlijke portie churros! 💃🕺

Als er één gerecht is dat de ziel van Valencia vertegenwoordigt, dan is het wel paella. Geboren op het platteland rondom de stad, is dit iconische gerecht veel meer dan alleen rijst met ingrediënten; het is een symbool van traditie, gezelligheid en liefde voor lokale producten.

De authentieke Valenciaanse paella bevat kip, konijn, snijbonen (judía verde) en garrofón (grote witte bonen) – allemaal bereid in een karakteristieke platte pan, de “paellera”. Vergeet de zeevruchtenvariant die je elders in Spanje misschien ziet; die versie is meer een toeristische interpretatie. 😉
