Firefighting and agricultural capabilities. One AT-802. ✈️🔥🌱

At Titan Firefighting, we are proud to present one of our latest AT-802 equipment configurations, developed to combine firefighting and agricultural capabilities within the same aircraft.

Starting with a factory-delivered AT-802 equipped with a GEN III fire gate and spray system for firebomber operations, our team integrated additional equipment to complete the configuration required by the customer:

✈️ Garmin G600 TXi (PFD) integrated into a hybrid instrument panel
🖥️ Garmin GI 275 as standby instrumentation
🛰️ AG Pilot X
📡 AEM MTP136D tactical radio
🔧 …among other equipment and modifications.

The result is an AT-802 configured to provide the customer with greater operational versatility, bringing together two of the missions for which the platform was designed: aerial firefighting and agricultural operations.

Making this configuration possible required more than installing new equipment.

The project was developed in close cooperation with ASE, our EASA Part-21 Design Organisation (DOA), responsible for the engineering and certification work required to integrate the equipment into the AT-802.

These approvals are now also available within the organisation’s certification portfolio, expanding the range of solutions that can be offered for future AT-802 projects.

From aircraft configuration and equipment integration to engineering and certification, projects like this demonstrate the possibilities of adapting the AT-802 to the specific operational requirements of each customer.

Our thoughts are with Tuéjar and the Alto Turia. 🌲🔥

We are closely following the evolution of the wildfire affecting Tuéjar (Valencia) and the surrounding area, part of the Alto Turia Biosphere Reserve, an environment of exceptional natural value.

Hundreds of professionals, including ground crews, aerial resources and emergency services, continue working to contain the fire and protect the affected communities and natural areas.

From Titan Firefighting, we want to express our support to the people affected and our recognition to every professional involved in the response.

Wildfires remind us once again of the importance of prevention, preparedness, rapid response and coordinationbetween all the resources involved in protecting our forests.

10 hours. 66 loads. 193,605 litres prepared. One objective: supporting the firefighting efforts. 🔥✈️

Saturday, August 22 was an especially demanding operational day at Titan Firefighting, with continuous activity to support the aerial response to the wildfire affecting the area.

From 09:54 to 20:09, the aerodrome maintained an almost uninterrupted sequence of landings, loading operations and departures.

The figures reflect the intensity of the operation:

✈️ 20 different aircraft
🔄 94 operational movements
🛩️ 66 fixed-wing aircraft loads
🚁 28 helicopter movements
⏱️ 10.5 minutes average fixed-wing loading and dispatch time
✈️ 14.8 minutes average flight time to the fire, drop and return
🔁 24.6 minutes average cycle between loaded fixed-wing departures
🔥 14 aircraft loaded and dispatched between 15:00 and 15:59 alone

Throughout the day, the teams prepared:

💧 174,105 litres of water
🟥 19,500 litres of retardant
📊 193,605 litres of total mixture

This represents an average mobilization capacity of approximately 19,300 litres per hour sustained over ten hours of operation.

But behind every one of these figures are people: pilots, loading crews, technicians, coordinators, firefighters and emergency services working together under particularly demanding conditions.

For Titan Firefighting, this operation demonstrates something fundamental in aerial firefighting: having aircraft available is essential, but having the infrastructure, personnel and operational capacity required to keep them flying continuously is what turns those resources into an effective response.

Titan was operational when it was needed most.

Following the wildfire declared in Gátova (Valencia), today Titan Firefighting has activated its base to support the firefighting efforts. 🌲🔥✈️

This decision reflects our commitment to acting in good faith when an emergency threatens our environment and the communities around us.

More resources? Yes. But also better prepared, positioned and coordinated resources. ✈️🔥

The wildfires Spain has faced this summer have once again opened an important debate about the resources available to respond to increasingly demanding fire seasons.

But aerial firefighting capacity is not simply a question of how many aircraft are available.

It is also about having the right aircraft, in the right place, at the right time.

At Titan Firefighting, we believe an effective aerial firefighting strategy must be built around several key principles:

📍 Strategic positioning
Aircraft deployed close to high-risk areas before they are needed, reducing response times when an ignition occurs.

⚡ Rapid initial attack
Reaching a developing fire as early as possible can make the difference between an incident and a major emergency.

🛩️ Flexible aerial capacity
The AT-802 provides a combination of payload, agility and operational flexibility, while the Fire Boss adds the capability to scoop water from suitable nearby water sources and perform repeated attack cycles.

👨‍✈️ Aircraft are only one part of the equation
Experienced pilots, maintenance technicians and support teams are essential to keep an aerial operation available throughout a demanding fire season.

🤝 Coordination
Aerial resources achieve their full potential when integrated effectively with ground crews, emergency services and other aerial assets.

🌍 International cooperation
When national resources are under pressure, the ability to rapidly reinforce operations with aircraft and crews from other locations can provide additional response capacity.

The challenge posed by wildfires is evolving.

Our response must evolve with it.

Titan Firefighting family mourns alongside our colleagues at McDermott Aviation and the entire aerial firefighting community following the tragic mid-air collision in Greece.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of two aerial firefighters who gave their lives while carrying out one of the most demanding and selfless missions: protecting lives, communities and nature from wildfires. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

On behalf of everyone at Titan Firefighting, we extend our sincerest condolences to their families, friends and colleagues at McDermott Aviation. Our thoughts are also with the surviving crew members and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.

As Spain faces a challenging wildfire situation, two firefighting aircraft come from Türkiye to support the ongoing emergency. 🔥

This redeployment has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Turkish and Spanish authorities, demonstrating that when wildfires threaten lives, communities, and natural environments, international cooperation becomes one of the most effective tools we have. 🤝

Wildfires are a shared challenge. Responding to them requires trust, coordination, and the willingness to support one another whenever circumstances demand it.

We are proud that aircraft and crews can contribute to this joint effort, standing ready to support emergency services wherever they are needed.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who made this cooperation possible, and especially to all the professionals working tirelessly on the front line to protect people and nature. 🫂

In recent weeks, Spain has experienced several major wildfires across different regions, reminding us that every fire season is becoming more demanding.

Longer droughts, higher temperatures, stronger winds, and increasingly complex fire behavior are pushing emergency response systems to their limits.

The question is no longer whether we are prepared, but how we can improve prevention, detection, and response.

At Titan Firefighting, we believe that effective wildfire management begins long before a fire reaches critical dimensions.

The solution requires a combination of:

🛩️ Aerial surveillance and rapid deployment to detect and contain emerging fires at an early stage.
