A recent study highlights alarming levels of Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) in Ethiopia. Key findings include:
 14 prominent women reported high levels of online abuse, including hate speech, revenge po*******hy, and harassment.
 2,058 inflammatory keywords identified for hate speech data collection across four languages: Amharic, Afaan Oromo, Tigrigna, and English.
 Women and girls face higher levels of gendered abuse compared to men and boys, including stereotypes and mockery.
 Intersectional hate speech targets women and girls based on gender and other characteristics like ethnicity and religion.
 Lack of data cited as a major issue in addressing TFGBV effectively.
Join the fight against TFGBV and attend the conference on May 9, 2024, in Addis Ababa. Together, we can create safer online spaces for women and girls.

In Ethiopia, family holds a special significance, deeply rooted in our rich cultural heritage. One fascinating aspect of Ethiopian family life is the size of our families. According to recent data, the average household size in Ethiopia is among the highest globally, with families often consisting of extended relatives living together under one roof.
This tradition of large, multi-generational households fosters a sense of unity and interconnectedness, where every member plays a vital role in the family's well-being and prosperity. From grandparents passing down wisdom to younger generations, to cousins growing up together like siblings, the bonds forged within Ethiopian families are enduring and resilient.
Happy Family Day!

Ethiopia has a rich tradition of ancient manuscripts. To protect the heritage and history and ancient writings of the country and the world, multiple scholars have played significant roles majorly between the sixth and 16th century. Some of the most notable manuscripts housed in the Ethiopian monasteries include the Manuscripts of Yared, Books of Aba Giorgis Zegasicha, and others, as well as various historical chronicles and the biographies of saints. These manuscripts contain invaluable religious and cultural insights, with numerous illuminations and illustrations enriching their content. Many of these manuscripts are of considerable historical and artistic value and are thought to have originated from various regions around the world. The manuscripts were transcribed and illuminated by monks and scholars who worked tirelessly to ensure their preservation. In total, there are over 3,000 manuscripts preserved in various locations, each containing a wealth of knowledge and historical significance. The cultural diversity and artistic expression found within these manuscripts offer a unique glimpse into Ethiopia's rich and varied history.
These manuscripts are historical and contain many mysteries, unfortunately most of them are found outside the country. They are available through theft, purchase and gift. To reveal the number of countries where they are located outside Ethiopia; France 1050, England 618, Germany over 931, Italy over 1292, Jerusalem 871, America 1080, Sweden over 134, Austria 50, Belgium 41, Denmark 5, Canada 14, Egypt 30, Finland 6, Russia 118, Ireland 76, Norway 50. , there are 220 in the Netherlands, 25 in Poland, more than 3 in New Zealand, and 3 in Spain.

Learning from 78 years of successful journey of Ethiopian!

Ethiopian is ageing beautifully.
Ethiopian is now the leading Aviation Group in Africa. Over the decades, the airline has established itself as the leader in all facets of the aviation business: technology, leadership, network expansion and aviation mentoring.
Ethiopian started its operation with five C-47 aircraft operating its debut fight to Cairo via Asmara on April 8, 1946. Ever since, it has been growing in leaps and bounds and continued to introduce cutting-edge aviation technology and systems. As aviation technology leader, Ethiopian was a pioneer in ushering in new aviation technology into Africa including the first jet airplane as well as the first B767, B777-200LR, B787 Dreamliner, and787-9 in the continent. Ethiopian also led the way in operating Africa’s first Airbus A350 XWB.

Currently, the airline has a fleet of more than 146 modern aircraft with an average fleet age of less than seven years; it has also more than 100 ultramodern aircraft on order.
Happy Anniversary Ethiopian Airlines

Let's explore the wonders of Ethiopia. Episode 3
13 Months of Sun Shine !

The wild countryside of Ethiopia is home to some of the most remarkable wildlife anywhere on the continent. And its most extraordinary specimens are so special, you won’t find them anywhere else on Earth. From fearsome apex predators to shy technicolour birds, here’s our guide to some of Ethiopia’s most amazing endemic animals.

1. GELADA
The gelada (Theropithecus gelada) is a species of Old World monkey found only in the Ethiopian Highlands. Like its close relatives the baboons (genus Papio), it is largely terrestrial, spending much of its time foraging in grasslands.

2. MOUNTAIN NYALA
The mountain nyala (Tragelaphus buxtoni ) or balbok is an antelope found in high altitude woodland in a small part of central Ethiopia. It is a monotypic species (without any identified subspecies) first described by English naturalist Richard Lydekker in 1910.

3. ETHIOPIAN WOLF
The Ethiopian wolf (Canis simensis) is a canine native to the Ethiopian Highlands. In southeastern Ethiopia, it is also known as the Horse jackal. Unlike most large canids, which are widespread, generalist feeders, the Ethiopian wolf is a highly specialized feeder of Afroalpine rodents with very specific habitat requirements.

4. WALIA IBEX
The walia ibex is an endangered species of ibex. It is sometimes considered a subspecies of the Alpine ibex. Threats against the species include habitat loss, poaching, and restricted range; only about 500 individuals survived in the mountains of Ethiopia.

5. YELLOW- FRONTED PARROT
Not much is known about this attractive Ethiopian bird, first described by German naturalist Eduard Rüppell. You’ll hear its thin, high-pitched screech amongst more remote parts of the Highlands. Also referred to by the catchy Latin name poicephalus flavifrons, the yellow-fronted parrot is best-known for the jaunty, buttercup-coloured plumage around its face.

6. THE BLACK LION
Known for their striking, black manes, Ethiopia’s very own endemic species of lion was celebrated in a song by Bob Marley. Iron Lion Zion references the lion on a former Ethiopian flag, flown by Emperor Haile Selassie, who was known as the ‘Lion of Judah’. Selassie kept a number of Ethiopian lions as pets, the descendants of which remain at Addis Ababa’s zoo (opened by Selassie in 1948).

Searching your Brian Type
EPISODE 2

Type 2: The spontaneous brain

This type typically has lower activity in the front part of the brain in an area called the prefrontal cortex (PFC).
Personality type: With this brain type, you love trying new things, have a wide range of interests, and would rather do things on the spur of the moment than have a set schedule. You think outside the box, don't believe that rules apply to you, and are typically late for appointments. Organization isn't your strong point, and you're such a risk taker that your behavior might get you into trouble.
Career path: Having the spontaneous brain type is very common among entrepreneurs, entertainers, politicians, and real estate agents.

Learning style: This type is easily distracted and struggles with organization, so even though you may be really smart, it can be hard for you to perform up to your potential.

Relationships: Because you like excitement in your life, you may have a tendency to create drama in your relationships.

Potential problems: You may engage in risky behavior, such as drinking too much, taking drugs, or having extramarital affairs. This type is vulnerable to ADHD, depression, and addiction.
Engage in lifestyle strategies that boost activity in the PFC, including eating a higher-protein diet; taking supplements, such as green tea, rhodiola, and ginseng; and doing cardio exercise.

The third type of brain will be post by next episode
