Strong institutional sustainability starts with the right investment choices.

We are proud to have partnered with OSSHD (Organization for Social Services, Health and Development) in identifying viable income-generating opportunities to support long-term sustainability.

Following in-depth organizational assessments across 10 regional branches and the Head Office, supported by external business environment analysis, we presented our findings and potential IGA business ideas earlier this week at Pyramid Hotel and Resort in Bishoftu. The presentation was followed by active group discussions and reflections involving OSSHD Board Members, senior management, branch managers, and staff.

This participatory portfolio selection approach enabled the identification of three priority IGAs for further feasibility study and business plan development.

Exploring Sustainable Income-Generating Solutions for Impact!
Citizen Management Consultancy recently conducted a feasibility assessment for a proposed Income Generating Activity (IGA) project - ‘Project XX’ - on behalf of INTERNATIONAL CRISIS AID /Crisis Aid International (CAI). This initiative forms part of CAI’s broader efforts to enhance the long-term sustainability of its humanitarian interventions across Eastern Africa.
We were pleased to present our key findings and strategic insights to CAI’s leadership and local implementing partners. Together, we are working toward practical, sustainable solutions that empower communities and drive lasting impact.

In collaboration with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition(GAIN), our Business Development Team developed innovative business models aimed at improving consistent access to healthy and nutritious food in Ethiopia’s industrial parks. We presented the final report to key stakeholders, comprising both private and governmental partners at Kuriftu Resort & Spa

The project focused specifically on Hawassa, Adama, and Bole Lemi Industrial Parks, where we conducted in-depth assessments and identified key challenges related to food demand and supply.

✅ The proposed models offer practical solutions to address food supply chain gaps and the inconsistent access to nutritious food within industrial zones.

The recent USAID funding restrictions have placed significant pressure on Ethiopia’s civil societies.

According to Reporter Newspaper ( March 1,2025 ), over 85% of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ethiopia have paused operations following the Stop Work Order issued by the U.S. Government.

For many local CSOs, USAID has been a primary donor, and this sudden disruption highly affected their operation. However, this decision marks a strategic inflection point - an opportunity for CSOs to reassess their strategy and strengthen their resilience and sustainability.
