Since its establishment in October 2008, WAFA has organized successful high profile events which have brought together thousands of people from all walks of life locally and internationally. Organized Ethio-UK Trade, Investment and Tourism Forum in London in early June 2011 that successfully promoted investment potentials and opportunities in Ethiopia. Organized The Ethiopian T
rade and Investment Forum in India, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of Ethiopia in India. Ethiopian Trade Investment Forum: organized by WAFA in September 2009 to introduce Ethiopia’s trade, investment, and tourism potentials and opportunities to potential U.S investors. This forum was the first of its kind in:
- Getting the attention and recognition of US and other countries’ higher officials including secretary of states, Hillary Clinton, who participated and delivered speech in the forum;
- Bringing together many politicians, business community and investors from all over America to meet with Ethiopian investors and exporters
Successfully organized the 2nd Ethio-US Trade, Tourism & Investment forum in Washington DC in October 2011. Organized the 1st Educational festival at Addis Ababa level in collaboration with the Addis Ababa City Education Bureau. Successfully organized The EPRDF’S 19th Anniversary and the 4th National Elections in collaboration with the Addis Ababa City Administration. WAFA also managed to broadcast theevent live on Ethiopian Radio and Television at which Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and other higher government officials have taken part. Organized the first “Media Fair and Exhibition” in collaboration with Oromia Mass Media Agency in Adama for the inaugural ceremony of Oromia Television station. Organized The 29th Anniversary of The Amhara Nationals Democratic Movement (ANDM) in Bahir Dar town from November 19-25/2009 in collaboration with the Amhara National Regional State Trade and Industry Bureau. The bazaars, exhibitions and music concerts were attended by government and non-government officials and the public including former Deputy Prime Minister Addisu Legesse and Ato Ayalew Gobeze, the Amhara National Regional State President. WAFA is also serving as sole agent of marketing and promotion for Oromia Radio and Television Organization and “Dimtse Weyane” (Voice of Weyane) radio station. Nowadays it is taking a wide range of actions to hold forums in Italy and Turkey.
