From our first, surprising taste of the 74158 variety’s delightful, Geisha-like character in 2019 to the countless cups and collabs since — across their farms and coffee school, our roastery and academy, and rounds of coffee events, here and abroad — our connection with Daye Bensa has rewarded our community with its most enduring favorites, firsthand experiences of processing at origin, and a consistent sense of excitement for the cups every new season will bring.

Rooted in Daye Bensa founder, Asefa Dukamo’s vision for elevating Ethiopian coffee and widening our sensory horizon of Sidama Bensa’s remarkably layered, bright, and ripe expressions, Rumudamo Natural Anaerobic in our Competition Series is prominently tropical, complex, and clean. In Microlot Reserve, both express peach-like succulence, the liveliness of white grapes, and hints of tropicality, with Korma Kontoma Natural Mini leaning more crisp and tea-like, while perennial bestseller Hamasho Village Natural leans more syrupy and lush.

This year, we celebrated our first ever Supplier's Day. Suppliers play a big role and this was our chance to make sure they knew it. But recognition was only part of the day, we also came to listen. What can we do better, as a partner? The day also included knowledge sharing on cup quality and processing, an important part of building that partnership together.
