It also plays a major role in voicing the business concerns to the government. With over 17,000 registered members, Addis Chamber is the largest and oldest chamber of commerce in Ethiopia. Being a member of the world chamber of federations, it has prominent place among the international chamber houses. It is the only representative body that speaks with authority on behalf of the business community. Addis Chamber is an autonomous non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization to serve the interest of the business community of Addis Ababa and its members. Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce has been promoting advocacy works through various strategies and in a way that has been highly effective. It is undertaking a number of evidence-based researches, the outcomes and findings of which have served as inputs in policy documents enacted by the government. It identifies policy, legal and administrative hurdles faced by businesses and developed in anticipation of being taken up by public authorities to concrete policy proposals and recommendations. Nowadays Addis chamber is synonymous for hosting local and international exhibitions and trade fairs in various occasions. So far AACCSA has managed several international exhibitions and trade fairs that have significant contribution to promote business and investment both to the capital Addis Ababa and the country as well. The chamber aspires to be a unifying force for businesses across the country by working together with all relevant actors towards the creation, nurturing and sustenance of a pro-business environment that is conducive and competitive enough to sustain Ethiopia’s growth and development.

The Renowned Turkish elevator and escalator Industry, Thisa keens to Invest in Ethiopia

The Turkish brand Elevator and Escalator company, Thisa is exploring investment opportunities in Ethiopia’s market, aiming to establish state of the art Elevator manufacturing.

Thisa requested a business facilitation support from Addis Chamber to fully enter in to the Ethiopian manufacturing business arena.

Indeed , it is now opened its offices to sell its products in Addis Ababa since January 2026.

According to Abebe, Ethiopia offers competitive labor costs, export incentives, and strategic access to international markets, which are appealing to Turkish manufacturers looking to diversify production outside Turkey.

Founded back 25 years ago, Thisa is the result of many years of accumulated experience in the elevator and escalator industry and established in Koney, Turkiye the brand quickly secured a strong position in the international market.

Today, Thisa successfully exports elevator products to more than 40 countries, primarily to Russia, the Turkic Republics, the Middle East, North and west Africa, and the Far East.

Seminar on women entrepreneurs’ empowerment for economic development for developing countries is kicked off in Beijing, China

Addis Chamber May 23, 2026: The two weeks long seminar on women entrepreneurs’ empowerment for economic development for developing countries is kicked off in Beijing China.

This is part of the initiative taken by Addis Chamber and Chinese Embassy in Addis Ababa to empower and build the capacity of women in business membership organizations towards enhancing decision making power and women economic empowerment.

Women staffs from Addis Chamber are taking part in the seminar that is expected to stay for two weeks.

The event is organized by China Women’s University (CWU) which is affiliated to the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF).

Ethiopia–UAE Sketch of More Business Lines

Addis Ababa, May 22, 2026:- The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations announced that member companies are ready to do more business with Dubai, as part of Ethiopia–Dubai Connect, a special business forum.


Addis Chamber vice president Abebe Gurmessa( Eng.) said the event underscored the readiness of members from various sectors to engage with Dubai-based partners.

Amaha Hailegiorgis, Deputy Director General for the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific at Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Ethiopia pursues a forward-looking investment policy aimed at sustainable development and mutual benefit with partners. He noted that the government is reviewing trade and investment policies to adapt to changing global market conditions.

Dr. Jemal Beker, Ambassador of Ethiopia to the UAE, highlighted that more than 160 UAE companies are actively engaged in Ethiopia, spanning agriculture, manufacturing, and real estate. He stressed that considering Ethiopia’s geopolitical importance and the strong political commitment from both sides, greater business cooperation is anticipated.

Mohamed Ali Rashid Lootah, CEO and President of Dubai Chambers, reported that over 1,600 Ethiopian companies are operating in Dubai. He described this as a clear sign of growing business cooperation and noted that UAE-to-Ethiopia investment projects are increasing, reflecting mutual trust and confidence.

During the forum, more than 400 Addis Chamber member companies from diverse sectors engaged in discussions with visiting company representatives from the UAE side.

ከ20 በላይ የኤምሬትስ ኩባንያዎች የተሳተፉበት የዱባይ-ኢትዮጵያ የቢዝነስ ፎረም ተካሄደ

ግንቦት 14 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. (አሐዱ ሬዲዮ) - የአዲስ አበባ ንግድና የዘርፍ ማኅበራት ምክር ቤት ከዱባይ ንግድ ምክር ቤት ጋር በመተባበር ያዘጋጁት የዱባይ-ኢትዮጵያ ቢዝነስ ኮኔክት ፎረም ግንቦት 14 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. ተካሂዷል።

በመድረኩ ላይ በኢነርጂ፣ በማዕድን፣ በአገልግሎትና ምርት ዘርፎች የተሰማሩ ከ20 በላይ የተባበሩት አረብ ኢምሬትስ ኩባንያዎች መሳተፋቸው ታውቋል።

ይህ የቢዝነስ መድረክ በዋናነት በንግድ ትስስር፣ በኢነርጂ ዘርፍ፣ በአምራች ኢንዱስትሪዎች እና በዲጂታል ገበያ ዕድሎች ላይ ትኩረቱን ማድረጉን የኢትዮጵያ ንግድና ዘርፍ ማኅበራት ምክር ቤት ምክትል ፕሬዚዳንት ዶክተር አይናለም አባይነህ ገልጸዋል።

መድረኩ ዱባይ ያላትን ዓለም አቀፍ የንግድና የሎጂስቲክስ ማዕከልነት መነሻ በማድረግ በኢትዮጵያ እያደገ የመጣውን የአምራች ኢንዱስትሪዎች አቅም በጋራ ለማጠናከርና ስልታዊ ትስስር ለመፍጠር ያለመ እንደሆነ ተብራርቷል።

የንግድ ምክር ቤቱ ዋና ሥራ ንግድና ኢንቨስትመንት እንዲስፋፋ ማድረግ መሆኑን የጠቀሱት ዶክተር አይናለም፤ ምርትና አገልግሎትን የማስተዋወቅ ሥራዎችም በትኩረት እንደሚሰሩ ጠቁመዋል።

የአዲስ አበባ ንግድና የዘርፍ ማኅበራት ምክር ቤት ምክትል ፕሬዚዳንት ኢንጂነር አበበ ጉርሜሳ በበኩላቸው ምክር ቤቱ የንግዱን ማኅበረሰብ መብት፣ ፍላጎትና ጥቅም እንደሚያስጠብቅና በኢትዮጵያ ኢንቨስትመንት እንዲስፋፋ የበኩሉን ሚና እያበረከተ መሆኑን አመልክተዋል።
