𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝟳𝟱 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗝𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹.

On February 21, 2026, Jimma University’s Addis Ababa Campus hosted its first-ever Corporate Partnership and Postgraduate Engagement Initiative.
This milestone initiative serves as a strategic bridge which connects the university with professionals and corporate organizations to encourages capacity building and provide clear pathways to advanced education.

Dr. Mengistu Tafesse - COO, ABH Partners, officially opened the session by welcoming a diverse group of industry leaders, associations and professionals.

• Dr. Tadesse Habtamu - VP of Academic Affairs, delivered the keynote speech, highlighted the university’s dedication to establishing high-impact partnerships. With 410 programs currently available mostly primarily postgraduate, He affirmed the university’s commitment to scaling its expertise to meet the capital’s professional demands. 🤝.

• Mr. Buruk Woldemichael - Senior Director of Registrar, detailed the university’s program diversity, its extensive collaborations with global academic institutions and JU’s proven track record. According to him, since its establishment in 1952 G.C., the university has produced over 138,000 graduates 🎓, playing its role as a cornerstone of Ethiopian higher education for over seven decades.

• Dr. Mekonnen Bogale – Dean of College of Business and Economics (BECO) and Dr. Dessalegn Tamiru - Dean of Faculty of Public Health shared the growth of their respective faculties, including BECO’s enrollment of 20,000+ students since its year of establishment 1997 G.C.

The presentations sparked active reflections and a dynamic Q&A session, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.

Dr. Samrawit Solomon, Director of the Addis Ababa Campus, reminded attendees that Jimma University’s presence in the capital is a renewed commitment to a long-standing history. She noted that prior to the current phase, the campus had already graduated a significant number of students. Now fully resumed and operational, the campus is currently accepting applications for its second postgraduate intake. Dr. Samrawit concluded the event with key updates on the campus’s expansion and led a guided tour of the physical facilities.

To ensure sustained impact, these engagement sessions will now be held bi-annually at the beginning and midpoint of each academic year.

The dialogue which reflected from just "𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞" to "𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫-𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞" happened on the second SafeCare Sensitization Workshop, arranged by ABH Partners and the 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐄𝐇𝐅) with a theme “𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫-𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠”.

On February 19, 2026, private and public insurance companies and private hospital met with two primary objectives;
✔️ Introducing SafeCare
✔️ Implementing quality and safety metrics within formal contract agreements.

Dr. Amare Deribew, Technical Director, ABH Partners, opened the session by highlighting the program's purpose and emphasizing the critical role insurers play in driving healthcare quality.
This was followed by the presentation of Mr. Andargachew Gashu, CEO, Ethiopian Healthcare Federation, on the Strategic Role of Insurance Companies. His presentation moved beyond theory, offering a roadmap for how insurers can actively influence care quality.

Mr. Mohammedamin, Quality Manager, SafeCare Ethiopia, demonstrated what SafeCare is and how its framework provides the necessary tools to turn global safety benchmarks into local realities.
The highlight of the program was a vibrant group discussion where professionals from both sectors presented the outcome on 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 and 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, 𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. It revealed critical gaps. Most insurers don’t conduct formal quality assessments before contracting providers, while hospitals acknowledged weaknesses in quality management and infection prevention. This enabled both sectors to present practical steps to integrate quality and safety standards into insurance contracting.

Summarizing the reflections, Dr. Amare acknowledged the attendees for their active participation and outlined the path forward, to build a healthcare market where quality becomes a foundation for trust, contracting, and better patient outcomes.

On January 30, 2026, ABH Partners was honored to conduct a high-impact Continuing Medical Education (CME) session at St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College-SPHMMC.

In partnership with Mindray and the hospital’s Emergency Department, we focused on the clinical application of the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 (𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦𝟮) and 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 (𝗖𝗠𝗦) in;
📍 Early detection of patient deterioration
🛡 Improving patient safety
📊 Supporting data-driven clinical decision-making

The session sparked a vital dialogue between emergency and critical care physicians, nurses, residents, hospital administrators, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) teams on; ✅ Early warning systems ✅ Patient monitoring workflows ✅ Alarm management ✅ System integration ✅ Real-time data utilization
