Dear colleagues,

You are warmly invited to join our upcoming PAIS Informal Chat: Strengthening Programs Through Collaboration on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 12:00–1:00 PM EDT.

This session will focus on how collaboration across academic and support programs can enhance services for international students. Together, we will explore how cross-program partnerships can strengthen internationalization efforts, support student success, and make the most of institutional resources.

The session will feature Nadya (Nadezda) Pimenova, Senior Lecturer in Purdue University’s Language and Cultural Exchange (PLaCE) program. Nadya brings extensive experience in curriculum design, second language acquisition, and building inclusive support structures for international students.

During the session, we will:

Share examples of successful collaborations
Discuss common challenges
Exchange ideas for building sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships

This session is designed for English language program administrators, directors, coordinators, and others involved in program leadership, student support, and cross-unit collaboration. All are welcome.

Empowering teachers is the first step to transforming classrooms. 🌍📚

Together with the British Council, Ethiopian English Language Professionals' Association (EELPA) is launching an initiative to empower teachers of refugee and displaced learners.

The journey starts with a face-to-face program in Mekelle, Tigray, on February 8, 2026, hosted by EELPA–Tigray and continues with online sessions and mentorship. Our goal: to support educators in building empathetic, resilient, and inclusive classrooms.
