SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES WE CAN LEARN FROM AN EAGLE
1. Eagles Fly Alone and at High Altitudes.
Eagles don’t fly with sparrows, ravens, or other small birds. They soar alone at high altitudes, keeping their distance from negativity and distractions.
Lesson: Surround yourself with those who inspire, challenge, and elevate you. Stay away from those who hold you back. Eagles fly with eagles—choose your circle wisely.
2. Eagles Have an Accurate Vision.
With the ability to spot prey up to 5 km away, eagles are laser-focused on their target. No matter the obstacles in their path, they keep their eyes fixed on the goal.
Lesson: Develop a clear vision and stay focused. Challenges will come, but your unwavering focus will lead you to success. Keep your eyes on the prize, and don’t let distractions derail you.
3. Eagles Do Not Eat Dead Things. They Feed Only on Fresh Prey.
Eagles don’t waste time on what’s already been consumed or is past its prime. They focus on new opportunities that keep them sharp and strong.
Lesson: Don’t rest on your past achievements. Constantly seek new challenges, new growth, and fresh opportunities. Leave the past where it belongs—behind you.
4. Eagles Love the Storm.
When storms gather, eagles don’t flee. Instead, they use the winds of the storm to lift them higher, using adversity to rise above the clouds. While other birds hide, eagles soar.
Lesson: Embrace life’s challenges. They will push you to grow and rise to greater heights. Don’t fear the storms—use them as stepping stones to become stronger, better, and more resilient.
5. Eagles Prepare for Training.
To teach their young to fly, eagles make their nests uncomfortable by removing soft feathers and grass. They push them to grow by making the environment challenging.
Lesson: Growth happens outside your comfort zone. Embrace discomfort, for it’s where the most powerful transformations take place. Don’t fear the struggle—use it to build your strength.
6. When the Eagle Grows Old, It Rebirths Itself.
As eagles age, their feathers weaken and their claws dull. To regain strength, they retire to the mountains, painfully shed old feathers, and break their beaks against rocks. After a period of renewal, they emerge stronger than ever.
Lesson: Occasionally, you must shed old habits, limiting beliefs, and burdens that hold you back. Let go of what no longer serves you, even if it’s hard, and emerge renewed—ready to fly higher than before.
Just like the eagle, you have the power to rise above challenges, embrace discomfort, and renew yourself. Keep soaring higher, never stop growing, and remember that true leaders are forged in the storms
