Intervention menée dans le cadre du marché d’entretien de la statuaire d’extérieur de la Ville de Paris : nettoyage, dégraissage, reprise de patine localisée raccordée à la patine environnante, protection à la cire microcristalline. Un traitement qui devra être renouvelé tant que le geste perdurera.

On Place Dalida in Montmartre, the bust by Aslan has stood since 1997. A habit took hold: visitors rub the sculpture’s chest, a gesture said to bring luck. Thousands of hands each year, always in the same place. The patina is gone, the metal laid bare, bright and raw, while the rest of the work ages normally under rain and pollution.
Carried out under the City of Paris outdoor statuary maintenance contract: cleaning, degreasing, localised patina retouching blended into the surrounding surface, protection with microcrystalline wax. A treatment that will have to be repeated as long as the habit continues.
