Kesälomilta suoraan ajankohtaisten työelämäaiheiden pariin ☀️

Henkilöstöjohtajamme Vesa Sahlman vieraili kuluvalla viikolla MTV:n Huomenta Suomessa keskustelemassa keski-ikäisten ja sen ylittäneiden työllistymisestä sekä osaamisen ja työkyvyn ylläpitämisestä muuttuvassa työelämässä.

“Itse ajattelen, että keskustelu on osittain polarisoitunut ja olisi hyvä, jos iän sijaan puhuttaisiin osaamisesta ja siitä, mitä työmarkkinoilla tarvitaan. Olennaista olisi tunnistaa ja sanoittaa erilaista, erityisesti työssä hankittua, osaamista nykyistä paremmin. Tänä päivänä myös osaamisen kehittämisen ja oppimisen kanavia on saatavilla valtava määrä, ja meidän jokaisen velvollisuus onkin pitää huolta omasta osaamisestamme”, Vesa sanoo.

We are thrilled to welcome two new colleagues to our team this June: Jarkko Peltonen and Janne Takala ☀️

Jarkko and Janne bring extensive experience in areas like transformation program and project management, ERP implementation, product and sales development, and product data management.

"Communication, transparency, and aligned understanding are the keys to successful cooperation in the project organisation. Repeating these guidelines throughout the long project is essential, as it is very easy to get sidetracked for multiple reasons. One should never assume that the other party has understood your message the same way - it is wise to validate this", Jarkko says.

"To ensure a successful transformation, listening to everyone involved is essential to gain a balanced perspective on what’s needed for a solution. Additionally, when defining the solution, it’s critical to consider all implementation requirements to ensure successful ex*****on. Since people implement change, it's vital to communicate the transformation in a way that engages both their hearts and minds - addressing both rational and emotional levels - to secure their commitment and energy behind the ex*****on", says Janne.

Midagon has appointed Teemu Metsola as Managing Director, Midagon Finland, as of 1 September 2024. Metsola will transfer to this position from his current role as Business Area Director responsible for Process and Manufacturing industries.

The appointment is part of a broader management structure update. As of 1 September, Ilkka Töyrylä will act as Midagon Group CEO and Vesa Sahlman as the Group's CDO.

"Teemu knows our company, our personnel, our clients' operating environment with its challenges and shares our culture and values. I am sure that he will successfully steer our business in Finland forward. At the same time, I look forward to being able to focus on developing the Group organisation and implementing our Nordic growth strategy. The appointment of Vesa Sahlman as the Group's Chief Development Officer is one key enabler for this. We see strong demand in the Nordics for vendor- and solution-independent consulting that focuses on driving the client’s best interests in challenging change projects, and this is our strength," says Töyrylä.

Midagon continues to grow in the Nordics as the Swedish business consulting company FiDo Consulting joins Midagon. 🤝🏼 💙

FiDo is an independent consultancy specialising in the financial services sector. Founded in 2017, FiDo employs 17 people in Stockholm.

Midagon Group’s CEO Ilkka Töyrylä says the acquisition is an important step in implementing Midagon’s strategy: “Continued growth in Sweden and strengthening our business consulting services are key objectives in our strategy. I’m glad to welcome FiDo’s experts to join us on the journey of building a Nordic leader in transformation.”
