How can technology promote quality of life, inclusion, and engagement in care homes? 💜

At in Norway, YetiCare has become a natural part of daily life. This inclusive technology helps staff create moments of genuine engagement and a sense of accomplishment for residents aged 40 to 90.

"We find that residents surprise us by mastering activities and demonstrating skills that we might not have noticed otherwise," says Anne-Hilde Seigerud, Nurse and Manager at Fagertun.

The team has successfully integrated YetiCare into their routines to encourage active participation through brain exercises, games, and music, both in group settings and individual sessions. For instance, friendly matches of YetiHockey and cognitive challenges with YetiBrain games have fostered a sense of accomplishment, social interaction, and joy. ✨

How do meaningful digital solutions come to life? Through collaboration. 🤝

A perfect example of this is our ongoing game development project. Together with Tara, a game production student at Sataedu and the EHEÄ project team, we are creating a music application designed to bring joy and engagement to individuals with complex needs.

The idea for this app originated from real-world needs. Music plays a vital role in everyday life, supporting emotional regulation, encouraging interaction, and promoting inclusion. The app's first real-world test took place at the Hovipaja Activity Centre for adults with intellectual disabilities, where it received a warm and enthusiastic welcome. The app sparked interest, encouraged participation, and brought people together to enjoy music. 💜🎶🎵

This is co-development in its truest form: ideas are generated from genuine needs, tested in real environments, and refined collaboratively to ensure they effectively support daily life.

Tara, our student collaborator, shares her thoughts:
"It has been rewarding to see the concrete impact of my work. Developing an app for a real need, in collaboration with the people who will actually use it, makes the learning process much more meaningful."

By bringing together educational institutions, students, healthcare expertise, and technology, we are creating valuable learning experiences and nurturing more meaningful moments in care. ✨

Happy World Autism Awareness Day! 🧩✨

Today, we celebrate neurodiversity with the United Nations under the theme "Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value", highlighting the dignity, equal rights, and value of every neurodivergent individual.

This day holds special significance for us; it is part of our story. Our journey began with parents who wanted to help their autistic children navigate everyday life, especially in developing social skills. They saw that by removing barriers, curiosity flourishes and communication grows.

In line with the UN, we believe awareness must be paired with action. We are honoured to support professionals working in care environments by providing tools that turn daily routines into meaningful moments. Whether it’s through sensory exploration or shared group activities, our goal is to replace passivity with active participation.

When we remove barriers, we don't just provide an activity; we uphold the dignity and equal rights of every individual. 💜

På Norlandia Oksenøya sykehjem brukes Yetitablet Norge som aktivitet i hverdagen. Med nettbrettet kan det enkelt arrangeres en spillstund der beboerne samles, heier på hverandre og følger spent med når kulen ruller mot kjeglene.

Hverdagsvennen Sofia er med og arrangerer slike spillstunder sammen med beboerne. Det gir rom for gode samtaler, latter og hyggelig samvær rundt spillet 💜

Inclusive technology can transform everyday moments in care settings into meaningful engagement, genuine joy and greater inclusion.

In Odder municipality, Denmark, an activity centre and supported living residence tested YetiCare's inclusive technology in their operations. Like many care facilities, they sometimes struggle to find activities that engage all residents. The results were inspiring: individuals who rarely participated in shared activities became actively involved and expressed happiness.✨

Technology can enhance inclusion and engagement in the lives of care home residents. VilMer Norge, our partner in Norway, shares insights from a local care home.

Löydät meidät Messukeskus Taitavasta, Teljäntorilta. Tervetuloa moikkaamaan meitä osastollemme! Mukana tapahtumassa myös Suomen kumppanimme Berner Medical.

Hyvinvointiteknologiamessut ovat vuoden kiinnostavin hyvinvointi- ja terveysteknologian tapahtumakokonaisuus, joka esittelee monipuolisesti teknologian ja digitaalisten palveluiden tilaa nyt ja tulevaisuudessa. ✨
