On the Finnish Entrepreneurs’ Day, a few thoughts from the CEO.
I founded Harjanne Company on a simple bet: that Nordic creative rigour and international collaboration don’t have to be opposites — that great work happens when artists and industries across borders build something together. Since then, I’ve run it as a small team — never more than four of us — while leading productions that each pull together around 200 people across cast, crew, and departments. That contrast is the job: tiny company, vast networks of collaborators.
But the “why” behind starting a company was never just about output. It was about building something that supports the industry itself — creating environments where creative people can do their best work, grow, and be genuinely taken care of. A company, at its best, isn’t a business structure. It’s a creative house. A community.
What I’m proudest of is something hard to put in a spreadsheet: the collaborators, across countries and disciplines, who keep coming back — and the belief that a supportive environment is what makes ambitious creative work possible at all.
Grateful for everyone who’s building this with me, wherever in the world they are. Here’s to more borders crossed, more communities built.
