☀ SprintIT summer series, part 3: Wearing our roots
During the summer, we're sharing a few of our favorite shots from our recent photoshoot.
This week, we're celebrating two outfits that carry a lot of history and personal meaning.
🇪🇬 Mahmoud's galabiya is a traditional Egyptian garment that has been worn for centuries, especially in rural areas and Upper Egypt. The style, fabric and details vary depending on the region and the occasion. The particular cut Mahmoud is wearing is the same style his father used to wear, making it a meaningful way to honor his family tradition and stay connected to his roots.
🇮🇳 Viki's outfit combines a kurta with a Nehru jacket, a classic look often worn during festivals, weddings and other special occasions in India. The jacket is also closely associated with Indian politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who famously gifted one to the President of Finland.
