We've got some news! Tampere-based software company Geniem has acquired Frantic. 💎

From today on, Geniem’s customers and ours will be served by a total of nearly 100 top experts from all over Finland and from Geniem's​ offices in Tampere, Vaasa, and Helsinki. The acquisition creates an even more appealing service entity in the ever-growing market of digital services but also offers more challenging and interesting projects for our employees.

Tampere-based Geniem and Helsinki-based Frantic announced today a corporate acquisition that will transfer Frantic's business to Geniem on July 1, 2022.

The Kirja.fi online book store is now live! 📚 🛒 Werner Söderström’s new online store houses exclusive content such as author interviews, articles, podcasts – and of course a vast selection of books from a growing array of publishers.

📚 Kirja online store runs on Shopify, and includes multiple integrations and automations that enable WSOY’s online business to run smoother.

⚙️ The visual design is by Saariaho Järvenpää Oy, and the technical design and implementation is by our wonderful team of developers, designers and a project lead.

On the 19th of March, we celebrate the day of Minna Canth, who was a playwright, author, and pioneering social activist for equality. Even though leaps in gender equality have been made here in Finland, the work is still not finished. This applies also to our field of IT.

Companies play a huge role in creating an equal setting for all. It takes conscious choices and concrete actions to make change happen. For us, creating a safe working community where everyone can be themselves and have a voice has been a guiding principle. While we’ve been a forerunner of promoting gender balance in our industry, the work continues – with an intersectional and more inclusive perspective.

We gathered some of our previous and upcoming key initiatives to this post in the hopes that it will spark inspiration and new ideas for other companies.
