We, Big Plans Bakery, just finished our Resource Smartness of Finnish Households -project together with D-mat oy – for Sitra.

Check it out. Especially the project report linked at the bottom and the "10 tips for resource smart everyday life" found in it.

We're awfully proud of the project, and its results – that seem to carry on, as they should, well after the project ends. Thanks to the team and of course, the really great households that put up being the "human guinea pigs" (as one participant put it) for the project.

Update on our project in Jyväskylä (in Finnish):

Viiden kotitalouden MIPSit on nyt mitattu, tulevaisuuden tiekartat: kuinka resurssiviisastutaan aina kestävyyteen asti 2050 vuoden 8 tonnin elämään saakka on luonnehdittu ja parhaimmillaan testaillaan tulevaisuuden palveluita.

Big Plans Bakery is involved in a project with Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, that aims to create sustainable habits in Finnish households.

Five housholds in Jyväskylä are just now documenting their everyday life. From this documentation their material footprint will be calculated. Then the households will be given a tailored set of lifestyle changes that aim to lessen their impact. Those changes will be tested with our facilitation.

Fresh on BPB's plate: Bringing together the students from different higher education institutions in the Helsinki metropolitan region - to ideate and innovate societal start-ups, projects and movements. We've been working with it since the spring and finally the camp is starting.
