We never really know what life has to offer. Sometimes we just have to step in faith and know that God will provide the RIGHT PEOPLE with the PERFECT OPPORTUNITY for your DEVINE TIME! The No’s are not punishment, its doesn’t always mean we are lazy or being punished. Sometimes, it’s just that when it’s time for the glory, it goes where it belongs..

I spent months and years feeling forgotten in some spaces. While people around me seemed to be thriving, I felt abandoned. But in that time, God was cultivating that fire and confidence that my time WOULD COME. I had to learn that the season I was in was not in vain. It was pruning, it was development. I had to learn to put that confidence inward and stop expecting others to do what God wanted the glory for… So when I walk through this door I can say I LOVE THIS FOR ME AND IM PROUD AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, IM FILLED WITH GRATITUDE 🙏🏾…

Costume building is always so much fun, especially when you get to learn about an alternative world or challenge yourself from a constructional standpoint! Thank you Caitlin and Emily 🕊🖤 for your support on this! 💕

Here are 5 tips for costume remaking:
1) Focus on accuracy (as much as possible).
2.) Research the show/person/character, era, materials, etc.
3.) Budget for research + Specialist hiring
4.) Make a mock-up version (sample fabric) before the final fabric outfit.
5.) Have Fun!

Have you thought about becoming a character lately? If so, who?? For me, it’s Princess Jasmine or Poison Ivy. Such different ends of the spectrum, lol, but Poison Ivy seems like it would be fun to recreate!

Currently I use AI Styling & Design for fun, as a creative release. As a full time Fashion and Costume Designer 👩‍🎨 it’s important for me to stay sharp and challenge myself creativity.

The thing I’m learning with using this tool is you have to be extremely specific and technical. The more construction & patterning skills you have the better ex*****on you’ll have when creating a piece from scratch. Essentially, to get the best results you’ll have to explain it from a construction /technical point. I’ve found it works better than just telling it what you want to visually see.

EXAMPLE: A Corset top that drapes from right side and wraps around the left arm.

INSTEAD OF
- Generate a photo of a corset that has fabric that drapes in the front and wraps around the arm.

TRY:
Generate a photo of a sweatheart shaped corset that is structured using boning. The length should finish at the hip. Add a satin fabric that drapes across the front. It is connected at the right side seam, drapes across the center, and wraps around the left arm going towards the back. (If you have specific colors, body type, or finishes you’d like, include those as well)

In return, it’s sharpening your skillsets to;

WORDS OF WISDON FOR ENTREPRENEURS (but anyone really)

Years ago before the major opportunities, I spoke life into Delicate K. I remember telling people I wanted to work with celebrities, work in film/tv, etc…. I wanted to make custom costumes and clothing for people. With no real evidence I believed that and 8 years later I’ve worked with some of the most amazing artist, projects, companies, people, etc.. MORALE OF THE STORY; SPEAK LIFE OVER YOURSELF AND YOUR GIFT! TRUST IN GOD’S WORD OR INTUITION OVER YOUR LIFE.

Even when people try to convince you that you’re doing to much, you should conform to where the “times are”(not the same as pivoting, that’s necessary), you should just be grateful people are calling you, trying to bully/guilt you into shrinking youself or your worth FOR THEIR affordability or comfort, DON’T! There is a time and place where what you make (financially) may not always be consistent or equivalent to what you want/NEED/deserve but those moments have to be becasue you chose to do what you needed or wanted in the moment. Not becasue others are trying to shrink you, humble you, or make you fit into their needs. Times will get hard on this journey, sometimes months and sometimes years! One month I could make $15K and for the next 3 months make another $0-1,000 and bills don’t stop.. But every time I’ve done something out of alignment, I’ve paid for it with entitlement towards my gift, blatant disrespect, or not being compensated all together… It’s just not worth it in the end.

On your climb up remember ;
👉 STAY PRAYED UP🙏
👉Cultivate genuine relationships
👉Sometimes free work is necessary to learn and/or build collaborative relations with people.
👉During high income earning months buy in bulk.
👉There’s a 90% chance you will fall on hard times. Your worth is NOT tied to your current situation.
👉People will try to use you, especially if you’re talented.
👉HOWEVER, great people and supporter/s do exist!
👉You’ll probably feel like quitting several times on your journey. (Lord knows I have).
👉Believe in yourself! (this took me a while to get mentally)
IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINK OF YOUR TENACITY AND AUDACITY TO GO AFTER YOUR DREAMS AND RESPECTFULLY BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOUR WORTH. That’s a reflection on their limited belief and confidence, not yours!

FUN FACT: If you didnt know, the trees were actually people!! I was apart of the team that made the props/costumes for the Bad Bunny performace! 1st I want to say thank God that my name come across peoples desk when opportunities Iike this arise. 2nd thank you Cathy who actually got the contract, this was an inspiring achievement that gives all up and coming costume builders hope! 2026 is MY YEAR! I RECIEVE ALL GREAT THINGS COMING MY WAY!
