A milestone worth celebrating once again.💫

The successful completion of Finland's first F135 engine at Patria's Linnavuori facility marks a significant milestone and a strong start for F135 engine assembly in Finland.

We would like to once again thank Pratt & Whitney, Puolustusvoimat - Försvarsmakten, Ilmavoimat - Flygvapnet - Finnish Air Force and Suomen puolustusministeriö - Finlands försvarsministerium for their partnership and collaboration. This achievement demonstrates the successful cooperation between all parties involved and highlights the dedication and expertise behind this accomplishment.

Last weekend, Patria Hämeenlinna welcomed employees and their families to a Family Day. 💙

The day offered a unique opportunity to showcase where we work, the expertise behind our success, and how Hämeenlinna's know-how contributes to strengthening security. Visitors explored our facilities, met colleagues, and got up close to some of our products and vehicles, including the Patria 6x6, Patria AMV XP and Patria MUSCL.

With activities for all ages, plenty of curious questions and a fantastic turnout, the event was a reminder that it is our people who truly make the difference. ✨

Thank you to all the event organisers, presenters, partners, support teams and volunteers who made this successful Family Day in Hämeenlinna possible.

At a military testing area in Parola, Finland, a Patria AMV XP 8x8 armoured vehicle moves under remote control. The operators, however, are not sitting nearby. They are in Tokyo, Japan.💻

At the end of August, Patria demonstrated armoured vehicle remote operation across 7,800 kilometres. Operational data was transferred via Telia’s 5G mobile network and a virtual mobile private network with international roaming. All traffic was routed through a closed corporate network, separate from the public internet, creating an isolated and secure network environment.

The Tokyo-Finland demonstration is a practical showcase of how defence technology, telecommunications and advanced situational awareness can be combined into a credible remote-operation concept. How was the demonstration carried out, and what does it tell us about the future of remote operations?

The first F135 fighter jet engine assembled by Patria has been successfully completed at Patria’s new facility in Linnavuori, Finland. The completion was celebrated today, 3 September, in Linnavuori at an event hosted by Patria. 👏

As a strategic partner of Puolustusvoimat - Försvarsmakten and Ilmavoimat - Flygvapnet - Finnish Air Force, Patria is responsible for the assembly of F135 engines in Finland and, in the future, for their maintenance, repair and overhaul. Production is now underway at Linnavuori and is planned to continue until 2030.✈️

“The completion of the first F135 engine is a significant milestone and a strong start for F135 engine assembly in Finland. It demonstrates the successful cooperation between Patria, Pratt & Whitney, the Finnish Defence Forces and Suomen puolustusministeriö - Finlands försvarsministerium,” says Petri Hepola, Chief Program Officer, F-35 at Patria.

From preparation to production: Patria has begun assembly of F-35 forward fuselages and is manufacturing structural components in Finland as part of the global F-35 programme.👏

Patria is the first partner outside the United States to manufacture these critical structures for Lockheed Martin.

"Good operation between all those involved in the programme has ensured that, after a long planning phase, we are now able to begin productions," says Petri Hepola, EVP of Sales & Marketing and Chief Programme Officer for the F-35 programme.

Alongside production, Patria is strengthening its expertise in engine assembly, maintenance and aircraft sustainment, helping support Finland’s F-35 fleet throughout its lifecycle.✈️

How can a master’s thesis reshape product sustainability in defence? 🌍

When Juho Röytiö joined Patria, his thesis didn't gather dust, it launched his dream career. Now as a Product Sustainability Specialist, Juho develops long-term solutions for our armoured vehicles. The goal? A "dual benefit" where sustainability directly strengthens operational performance, from hybrid powertrains with smaller heat signatures to lower-carbon steel.

With EU & NATO targets shifting procurement, Patria is already preparing for the future. "I’ve had a unique role to think about major issues as far as ten years ahead," Juho says.
