A special evening last Thursday where Nordkapp and LumiDB won Best Use of Data at 2026 competition 🏆

A massive thank you to our clients Sampo Lappalainen, Jasin Bushnaief and the wider LumiDB team for the collaboration.

Here’s what the jury had to say about the project:
“A very impressive and innovative service. A huge amount of data has been tamed into an easy-to-use interface, diverse data has been combined into sensible entities, and the speed of work and the quality of the final result are unparalleled. The jury is looking forward to seeing where the service will develop.”

A big thank you to the team and the jury at Grand One for hosting such a special evening.

LumiDB is a Grand One 2026 finalist, in two categories! 🎉

Nordkapp, together with the LumiDB team Sampo Lappalainen, Jasin Bushnaief and co., turned deep tech into a user-centric product people can use immediately: a cloud-native point cloud database where massive 3D datasets are searchable, shareable, and instantly usable in the browser.

Finalist categories:

➡️ Best use of data
➡️ Best use of AI or other new technology

Big thanks to everyone who helped make this project come alive, from rapid prototyping and user validation to a production-ready design system built in 6 weeks.

Looking forward to the Grand One Gala.

Our collaboration with Visma was submitted as an entry to this year’s for the Visma Aquila Design System.

Unfortunately, it did not make it as a Finalist, but we’re happy with the outcome of the project.

Nordkapp collaborated with Visma to build their Aquila Design System which was piloted with their product Personnec F ESS to improve and modernize one of the most critical, yet often invisible workflows in Finnish working life: keeping employee and employment data accurate throughout the entire lifecycle of employment.

Big shoutout to the client team for driving this forward at scale!

Meanwhile, wishing luck to all the other participating entries that made it as a Finalist within their categories.

We’re looking for an experienced Strategist / Strategic Designer to join our team at Nordkapp.

At Nordkapp, we help organisations bridge the gap between grand visions and practical action. Our work lives in that crucial middle ground — connecting strategy, design, and ex*****on into a clear, shared direction.

As a Strategic Designer, you’ll work on complex challenges where systems thinking, design research, and storytelling meet. You’ll help make sense of ambiguity, align diverse stakeholders, and translate strategy into tangible roadmaps and principles.

We’re looking for someone who brings strong experience in strategic and service design, excellent facilitation and communication skills, and the ability to see both the big picture and the small but important details.

You’ll join a team of 20+ curious and ambitious designers, working together in a no-bullsh*t, human-centered environment that values learning, honesty, and balance.

Fluency in English and working knowledge of Finnish are required.
