🌿🌳🌱 Kiitos kaikille lukiolaisille ja muille osallistuneille! Antoisa päivä oli täynnä mielenkiintoisia ajatuksia sekä inspiroivaa keskustelua tärkeän aihekokonaisuuden ympärillä. Metsän merkitys ilmastonmuutoksen torjunnassa, kestävät materiaalivaihtoehdot ja muovin korvaaminen olivat päivän keskiössä. Myös puupohjaisista tekstiileistä keskusteltiin. Lisäksi pohdimme hiilinielujen ja biodiversiteetin merkitystä kestävässä tulevaisuudessa. Kiitos, että olette mukana rakentamassa parempaa ja kestävämpää huomista! 💚🌍

🌿🌳🌱 Vision Hunters mukana Metsähack-tapahtumassa Granin lukiossa 25.10. Metsähack-tapahtuman fokus on kestävässä metsäteollisuudessa ja sen rooli ilmastonmuutoksen torjunnassa.
Olemme mukana tukemassa kestävää metsäteollisuutta ja ilmastonmuutoksen torjuntaa yhdessä noin 100 lukiolaisen kanssa. Mietimme yhdessä, mitkä asiat puhuttelevat nuoria metsätalouden kestävyyden näkökulmasta ja miten metsäteollisuus voi edistää biodiversiteettiä vieläkin tehokkaammin. Tapahtuman järjestää Kauniaisten lukio ja Puunjalostusinsinöörit ry.
💡Odotamme innolla inspiroivaa päivää ja uusia ideoita!

Puunjalostusinsinöörit ry - Finnish Forest Products Engineers' Association ry on myöntänyt Stenbäck-plaketin Vision Hunters Oy:n hallituksen puheenjohtajalle, Rainer Häggblomille. Ansiomerkki myönnetään tunnustuksena yhdistyksen hyväksi suoritetusta arvokkaasta työstä. Rainer Häggblom (KTM, MMM) on alamme , jolla on lähes 40 vuoden ura metsäteollisuuden johdon konsultoinnissa. Hän on toiminut neuvontajana ja keskeisessä roolissa lukuisissa merkittävissä yritysjärjestelyissä, strategisissa kehittämisprojekteissa, investointisuunnittelu- ja yritysjärjestelytoimeksiannoissa yli 50 maassa. Rainer Häggblomilla on myös useita hallitustehtäviä maailmanlaajuisesti.

Iris Ollila appointed Managing Director of Vision Hunters.

Having formed part of Vision Hunters team since 2018, Iris will take up her new role as Managing Director as of, 1st of November 2022.

“I am glad about Iris’ appointment. She has played a pivotal role in a number of Vision Hunters' strategic assignments, and I am certain she will succeed in leading the company's sustainable growth”, says Rainer Häggblom, Chairman and Partner of Vision Hunters.
Iris has a wealth of experience in consulting from the public and private sectors and has been leading strategic management consulting assignments and teams globally. She holds a master’s degree in environmental economics.
“I am both excited and humbled to take on this new challenge and contribute to long-term sustainable value creation of our clients. Vision Hunters possesses the technical expertise and business experience required in the green transition and I look forward to developing and implementing new innovative ways and sustainable solutions together with my colleagues”, Iris comments.
Simultaneously, Teija Konttori has chosen to leave the company and steps down from her position as Managing Director.
“I would like to congratulate Ms. Konttori for her achievements in her role and for strengthening Vision Hunters’ credibility and professionalism during her tenure. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank her for her energetic leadership and wish her much success in her future endeavours”, says Ollila.

Forest residues can be converted into a variety of products, including biofuels, biochemicals, and biomaterials, which can replace the use of fossil fuels in the production of steel, chemicals, and transportation fuels. Using bio-coke can be an alternative for decarbonising iron and steel industry.

In the last few years, the green transition, or the change from growth based on fossil fuels to growth based on green solutions, has ramped up considerably. Forest residues are one of the most promising renewable feedstocks due to their availability, cost, and independence from the food industry.

We have given our support via Red Cross' Disaster Relief Fund and would also like to challenge our clients and co-operation partners to do the same, in addition to the wonderful corporate efforts we have already seen this week. Every single euro will be needed in this humanitarian crisis.
