New on the battery box: a main power switch and a 12V charging port for external devices.

The power switch has been one of our most requested features, mostly from customers who travel by air. We use gel batteries, which airlines generally treat differently than lithium, but having a simple way to fully disconnect the system still gives people extra confidence when checking in a chair. Worth double-checking your airline's specific battery policy before you fly either way.

As a bonus, we added a 12V charging port right next to it — handy for a phone, lights, or other accessories on the road.

Our full PU-leather cushions just made their first trip abroad — this FourX is headed to a new owner in Germany.

Normally we use PU-leather on the side panels only, with fabric on the main seating surface. This build uses it everywhere: a cleaner, more rugged look, and a surface that wipes down even faster than fabric.

Excited to see how it holds up in daily use — and glad it found its first home.

We love seeing these chairs head off to their new owners. This fabric has been one of our most requested colors, and it's easy to see why: it wears well, cleans up fast, and still looks this good after the ride home.

We built the FourX to remove the wall the pavement used to be. The moment the ground stops being flat, most chairs stop working. Not the FourX.

Did I get stuck on the beach in the FourX wheelchair?

I took the chair to the spot where most people turn back: dry, loose sand your foot sinks into – and on a slope.

Here's the surprise. Most all-terrain wheelchairs buy their grip with size, fitting wide, chunky knobby tyres, often 5 to 6 inches across. The FourX comes with just 3-inch tyres as standard, in many cases barely half the width. And it still got up the slope.

Why? Because grip doesn't come from tyre width alone. It comes from the whole package: torque, a low centre of gravity and a balanced build.

And that's the whole point. Wide off-road tyres make a chair clumsy in town, so a lot of all-terrain chairs end up outdoor-only. The FourX's narrower tyre takes you to the beach and into the city on the same setup. No swapping wheels, no separate indoor chair.
