A warm welcome to Herrmans, François Joly!

A new colleague and the next step for Herrmans: we have appointed Francois Joly as Herrmans Bike Components’ new Sales & Marketing Director.

With experience across OEM, aftermarket and distribution, François knows the bicycle industry from many angles. In his new role, François will focus on developing Herrmans’ global market approach, strengthening customer cooperation and supporting growth in key markets.

His appointment also comes at an important time for Herrmans, following our recent acquisition of Roxim lighting technology and the continued development of our bicycle industry product portfolio.

Fresh air, full bike racks and a slightly emptier car park? For World Bicycle Day, we challenged our Herrmans colleagues to leave the car at home and bike to work instead.

Some of our regular bike-to-work commuters shared what keeps them going: a better start to the day, fresh air, freedom, birdsong, exercise, and arriving at work with a clearer mind.

There was also some very practical advice: make sure you have good clothes, a good bike, and the right attitude. Rainy days included.

And then there are the extra benefits, as our Supply Chain Director Joel Kaitfors put it: “2.5 hours of free exercise” every week, plus, of course, “bragging rights.” 😉

World Bicycle Day is a nice reminder that cycling does not have to be complicated or overly ambitious. Sometimes it is fresh air. Sometimes it is freedom. Sometimes it is simply arriving a little more awake than when you left home. Or feeling like "Awesomesauce", as our bike commuting IT Specialist Lukas Haasiosalo put it 😎

With this step, we strengthen our lighting portfolio, grow our presence in Asia, and improve our ability to serve global customers in the bicycle and e-bike industry.
